Edit: I see you did use eARC… Apologies.
Strange, I set up my girlfriend's Beam Gen2 in 7-8 minutes after she had installed the SONOS App and created an account. The speaker just had to update before it could be connected. I just followed the instructions in the App.
Connected to a Samsung TV.
I've had SONOS for many years so when I updated my entire system with Arc Ultra, Sub 4 & Era300 it didn't take much more than 20 minutes before everything was set up. Mainly because these speakers also had to update first. Connected to a Samsung TV.
Where does the error occur?
@Peter_254
A number of errors: first repeated requests to sign in to my account - after the fact that it had been set up and verified. Failure to list the 5G WiFi Network among the options that were scanned. Failure to detect the TV either on the eARC port or even when using the optical adapter to the HDMI cable.
After going around in circles for two days, I reconnected my Samsung soundbar - no app to worry about and just a couple of adjustments to the sound settings on the TV - and it works perfectly.
On reflection, I think that depending on an app to connect audio-visual equipment is a risk better not taken. Needless to say, I deleted the Sonos app and reinstalled it three times and rebooted my iPad but the bug, if there is one, was not eliminated.

Sounds like you were just very unlucky somewhere along the Iine during setup as that is not a common issue. It would have been worth swapping out that Beam 2 for another one with the retailer, but obviously you’re happy with the soundbar you already had so you’ve saved yourself some money anyway.
@Rhonny:
I bought the Beam 2 because it’s an upgrade when compared with the Samsung soundbar that I have been using for a couple of years - at least on paper. Whether luck comes into my experience with the Sonos product is possible, but I can’t waste any more time trying to play my cards again.
I shall quit now and return the unit to the retailer.
When connecting SAMSUNG TV’s you should remove all HDMI cables and power down the TV and soundbar for at least two minutes. Next connect only the soundbar to the TV’s ARC or eARC HDMI port. Allow a minute or two for the TV and soundbar to share attributes. You should also enable the TV’s “Anynet”.
@AjTrek1
Yes, my iPad meets the requirements for using the Sonos app. It’s the latest iPad Mini which I bought last month. There will be an obscure explanation for the problems I’ve had.

OK...that’s good to know. Assuming you haven’t returned the Beam2 did you follow the advice given by @buzz ?
You state “Failure to list the 5G WiFi Network among the options that were scanned.”. The 5Ghz part of the WiFi card on the Beam is reserved for the dedicated link Sonos uses for communication between soundbar (or Amp) and surrounds/Sub(s), so the Beam will not connect to a 5Ghz network. As my final word, there is lots of information on the internet about bugs in the Sonos app - which has been described as a “fiasco”and a torpedo into Sonos’ reputation. If I had paid attention to the warnings, I could have saved myself time, effort and money.
