9/19/2026 (more): Just for the record, I unpluged all the Sonos equipment AND the router. I waited 30 seconds after unplugging the router then I plugged it back in. Then I waited for it to restablish a connection with the Internet. Then I plugged the Sonos products back in one by one, allowing each one to join the network and testing it before going to the next one. There was no change from before. The two Playbases work perfectly; they can play both streaming content and material in my music library. The other products cannot play content from the music library. They can play some, but not all, streaming content. I have a feeling that the Era 100 and the two Sonos One SLs can handle slow data streams but not faster ones. The graphics on the Android app suggest that data from the music library is streaming from the music library to the speakers, it just isn’t coming out as sound. Bottom line: I’m no better than earlier today. I really wish I had not accepted the latest system update. The really sad part is that everything used to work PERFECTLY and I thought it was great. I loved it. Even after the problems in 2024, I recommended Sonos to so many friends. Now I feel like I owe them an apology.

This company became dead to me in May 2024 - I have wasted countless hours trying to recover the functionality I previously enjoyed. It’s sunk cost fallacy in action - I am doubling down on Sonos’ multiple failures because of the thousands I have tied up in these speakers. Now ruined. Finally going to move to Bose this year - but I would NEVER EVER have recommended this company’s products after the way they treated customers with that stealth bomb May 2024 APP DISASTER UPDATE. This is a company proven to hate their own customers, and they still have not fixed the issues that started back then. One problem after another. Join the class action lawsuit; never buy another Sonos product, and certainly don’t treat friends that way - you should want to actually help a friend, not send them into misery.

You failed to quote the later post from MusicFan99 where they further determined what the problem was:

I have experimented further and the problem seems to be isolated to .WMA filed in the music library. The Playbases can still play them, but the Era 100 and the Sonos One SLs cannot. There used to be no problem with .WMA files. I have thousands of them and everything used to work properly on all my Sonos speakers.

Playing WMA files has been acknowledged by Sonos to be a recent problem. They are working on it.

Join the class action lawsuits.

Yep, jump on one and if the lawyers win enjoy your huge windfall profits, the huge one against Verizon took a lot of effort compared to the princely $14 award I finally got. The lawyers did a bit better with an award in the multiple millions.
