That really depends too on compromises that need to be made for budget, wall/floor construction materials, proximity of neighbours, and personal preferences for tone and volume, together with genre of music.


A good bass response means using a Sub but that could overpower a small room, for example. Speaker placement, room decor, soft/hard surfaces and soft furnishings will also affect sound.

Buy the biggest you can afford and then apply Advanced Trueplay.  Adding a sub can help the smaller speakers, Ones and ERA 100s, get more oomph. Had this combo in a small room and worked well BUT Trueplay tuning was a must or the Sub got way too boomy.

 

Budget is probably the biggest question as Nik9669a said
