bluetooth to era300 as surrounds

My set up is an arc, sub mini and era 300 as surrounds, plus a play one in two other rooms.

I think k it would be good to be able to use the era300 as Bluetooth receivers even if in surround mode. I have no way to play from my record player in the living room but the room is full of Sonos speakers! Could the surrounds not receive a Bluetooth signal and distribute it to the other speakers on the network. They could continue to work as surrounds

just a suggestion

You could purchase a Sonos Port and designate the Arc (or other Sonos speaker) as the “AutoPlay” room. *

  • Run RCA turntable leads to Port RCA-In **
  • Activate Line-in option
  • Designate Arc (or other Sonos speaker) as the Auto Play room
  • Recommend setting the volume level for Auto Play room at mid-point or less and adjust upward as desired. This prevents turntable volume from “blasting” if you had been previously watching a movie using the Arc

You can also find helpful info in this link

 * You could alternatively purchase an Era 100 and connect the turntable to it via the Sonos proprietary line-in dongle and then group-in the Arc and/or other Sonos speakers

** Turntable must have a built-in pre-amp or you must purchase a 3rd party pre-amp to sit between the Turntable and Port or Era 100

Thanks for the reply. My point is that I already own Bluetooth compatible components, albeit there were bought to be surrounds. It seems a pity that then cannot be used to connect my turntable via Bluetooth without reconfiguring the surround system. Not a dealbreaker by any means but I’d rather not have to buy more equipment just to play a Bluetooth source

This may sound strange however another poster purchased a BT turntable but was unaware that it could only receive a BT signal  to be heard through its attached speakers as opposed to sending the audio created by vinyl. Therefore does your Turntable send audio?

Yes but I have nothing I can send it to other than the era 300

The way Sonos is designed means the 5Ghz direct link between surrounds and soundbar (or Amp) is one way, not two way - either because the link does not work that way or the soundbar is not equipped to handle incoming streams. This is not an easy fix.
