Sonos App is Complete Garbage - for mobile or desktop

Sonos speakers are great, but everything about the apps is garbage, and gets worse with each update.

Almost everyday, Sonos “forgets” where my library is. I have to go into settings and add the folder again, even though it is already there. Sometimes, I can just start playing something I played recently through the app, even though it says there’s no music library!

On the mobile app, when I search an artist, it can’t find the song files I have stored locally on my phone! I’ve checked permissions, I’ve updated… everything. For a while, I could fix this by toggling between new and classic search and now that doesn’t even work.

This system is way too expensive for such * software.

If I find a better app that can work with these speakers I will absolutely never use Sonos apps again.

The Sonos software is complete garbage. It fails regularly and getting any tech assistance from the company is impossible. This is because they fired all their programmers and replaced them with their marketing department.

I've always had issues with sodos. Bought a few new pieces still have problems. I have 3 gigs of internet speed speed to my devices is over 900. It's not a network problem. Is a s*** suno's problem now? I have to go out and spend two thousand bucks on a better system

What a piece of c*** system. He used to be so outstanding, but now it's garbage. I wanna go back to Bose and unkyo. Cause at least we don't have those problems

The major issue of Sonos ist the inability to produce efficient and ergonomic application every new release is a new kind of mess but nothing is improving at all

@RMMPP Then it is still not the app that sucks, because it is just a remote to the system.

Do you diagnose the problem as being in the TV when your TV remote's batteries die?

I didn't think so.

I can’t really fathom how you’ve diagnosed that the problem is with my home network, which works flawlessly with every other piece of equipment that’s connected to it.  Even my oven somehow manages to communicate with the rest of the world.  Yet since I have owned my Sonos speakers, they’ve never reliably done anything that they’re supposed to.  Perhaps you’re right though, but I hadn’t realised that a set of speakers would be such sensitive little beings that they require some kind of special wifi that I’m obviously too unsophisticated to have access to.

Sonos is not the best way to listen from a desktop. Far better to connect to a usb cable to your computer with active speakers such as the KEF lsx ii’s and control your music library from the there. I still use a Sonos Port in my main room as a streamer, utilising the streaming service provider’s native controller on my iPad. So provided your needs are for a simple streaming solution, there is no requirement to use the Sonos software at all, bar the initial setting up.

I am in the UK and have a Sonos One that worked perfectly until I was foolish enough to download the new app. I am sitting here now unable to listen to any music on my Apple playlist’s .
I have deleted the app and re installed it but the only difference I actually get a playlist on my iPhone but when I select a track it just will not play. So frustrating.
