Hi all,

With the latest update, alarms are now available in the Sonos app. You’ll need the latest version of the Sonos app and speaker firmware to have them show, and steps are posted in the Sonos App Redesign AMA, which are:

  1. Update your app to:
    1. iOS: 80.00.08 - available now in the App Store
    2. Android: 80.00.05 - available now in the Play Store
  2. Update your firmware to 79.0-52294 - available now via the Sonos App:
    1. Tap the settings gear in the top right
    2. Select “Manage” next to your system name
    3. Select System Updates
    4. Select Check for Updates
  3. Launch the Sonos app twice in order to guarantee we fetch the latest feature flags:
    1. Start the Sonos app
    2. Force quit the app
    3. Start the Sonos app again

Once you’ve performed the above, you’ll find alarms in the Sonos app under System Settings (⚙) → Manage → Alarms.

You can view the current roadmap on our article for Future Feature Updates in the New Sonos App and also in the Release Notes for Sonos software updates.

If you have any further feedback to share, please continue to share it the main topic for the New Sonos App linked below or any relevant threads on the community:

Where is all the settings and my alarm on this new stupid app

How do you turn the alarms off or change the time now?  I use it for my morning alarm but now I can’t adjust the time or turn the alarm off!  It’s going to go off every morning now whether or not I want it to! This is the most utterly ridiculous and poorly thought out ‘upgrade’ of an app I’ve ever seen!  What idiot thought it was a grand idea to only partially migrate this feature?  That person should be fired.  The old app had tons of problems with maintaining connectivity but at least you could actually access the features offered!  The new one still doesn’t maintain connectivity, but now you get the added hell of not being able to turn off an alarm along with trying to navigate a useless and cluttered home page!

What the new update fails to take into account is that one of the chief reasons we all purchased the product was that it was more than just a speaker.

If we wanted great sound AND an alarm clock/timer we’d all set up an analog system and put an alarm clock in each room.

We chose to purchase these products because, at the time, they offered more.

With each update we have lost more and more of the functionality that set SONOS apart, now they are just connected speakers, and we can buy those anywhere.

OR we can buy an alarm clock and get better sound from a stand alone speaker system and not have to deal with interface issues and updates that remove more and more features.

Please address this immediately.

How creativity can turn into stupidity. Without the alarm function no more Sonos in my house! I advise you all to sell your Sonos and go for another brand.

Totally agree with all the posts about alarms... I used it every day for work, golf, late sleep after nightshift etc, now along with various connection issues... the alarm function is gone?

Certainly will NOT be investing any more of my hard earned.... B rediculous update 🤬🤬

This needs to be fixed immediately -- not in “months.”

Ditto for playlist editing capability and music library functionality.

Sonos has built loyal customers by ADDING functionality. When you take it away, especially for core functions like daily alarms, you not only diminish the product but break the company’s trust with customers.

I have NEVER been disappointed in Sonos until now, and I’ve had almost every device in my house since the company’s inception.

Seriously? I have my 6:30 am alarm going off on my days off with zero ability to turn it off!!!!

I hope this oversight costed someone’s job. Has anyone been able to figure out a way to delete pre-existing alarms?

WTF, Sonos. Regretting my $1000 purchase

The entire reason I bought a Sonos in the first place was because it had a master sleep timer regardless of streaming service used.

I rely on this speaker to fall asleep AND have an alarm in the morning. Well, I think, guess I better update the app last night… Wrong! Do not update!

Not only is there no sleep timer, but my old alarm is going off in the morning at whatever my old preset was with no ability to modify it. Now my neighbors are pissed off because it goes off forever while I’m at work.

Sonos must either let us reinstall the old app or update the sleep and alarm functionality within 1 week, not some BS June update.

if its not until June, I will do what I should have done from the start, go with a KEF system.

And let’s be honest, no physical remote was a giant PIA. To destroy our only remote being the app is a disgrace. The product manager should be named and shamed or whoever forced them to publish this app without asking their customers what they care about. No one asked for this app. Don’t you learn how to survey customers in your BS product management courses?

On top of all the other things that are wrong, I just found out the alarm clock functionality has disappeared from the “improved” app. I need to go to bed in an hour and don’t sleep with my phone in the bedroom and have no alarm clock!!!

This upgrade is a total disaster. An absolute and total disaster. I don’t know why I didn’t listen to all the terrible 1-star app reviews before choosing to update. I’m an idiot for thinking Sonos wouldn’t do something so unbelievable.
