Controllers & Music Services

Latest update I’m trying to install tonight is failing on all devices. I have a bit of a hodgepodge between beam arc and 2 amps.

Just finished a 55-song playlist and cannot add it to my queue.

I'm confused about "regular" radio stations I find listed as SONOS Radio "stations".  Are these streams coming to SONOS Radio via,a direct connection to those stations' own "streams", or is what I hear as a "SONOS station" actually coming from an intermediate connection, such as TUNEIN?  Specifically, the local public radio station here is KUAF at 93.1 FM.  Because it broadcasts using HD Radio, it has 3 different broadcasts going on simultaneously via its 93.1 FM dial location (i.e., 93.1-1, 93.1-2, & 93.1-3). I enjoy listening to KUAF's Jazz broadcast via 93.1-3.  Using SONOS Radio, I can listen to it via the SONOS Radio "station" designated as KUAF-3; OR, also via SONOS Radio, I can select the TUNEIN station, then play KUAF-3 from TUNEIN.  In 2 rooms, I don't have a SONOS speaker, so in those rooms I play KUAF-3 via TUNEIN on my Android phone through Bluetooth speakers.  Often there's a very brief time difference (maybe a second or 2) between what I'm hearing in the different roo

Hi everybody,I am using Sonos Amp and using it with App on Phone. I want to ask if my Sonos Account can be shared directly with family members? Can multiple devices sign-in with the same Sonos Account or do I have to add other members under the music streaming service? To clarify, I want when I leave the house, my family members can go to my Sonos Account that is already shared on their device and use Spotify to play.

I’d like to be able to play on multiple devices via apps like Spotify.Currently, the Spotify app allows me to select to stream to only one device. If I want multiple devices I then need to go to the Sonos app and add the other devices there, and the overall experience is pretty clunky.Having pre-defined groups that are exposed to the Spotify app so that one can stream to a group directly via the Spotify app would be a real improvement.

I am still on Sonos S1 because my legacy Sonos speakers are not supported on S2.I have tried to add a music share from my NAS on my home network.  However, after entering the correct path, username, and password, I see “Unable to add the music share \nasxxxxxx\public\music to your music library (900). And, the reason I am trying to add the music share from my NAS is because I received an email from Sonos stating that I won’t be able to play music stored on my phone anymore.Hoping for a solution because I love my Sonos speakers.Panger

1 Playbar in living room2 Symfonisk surrounds connected to Playbar1 One in Bathroom1 Boost Wifi is on Eero 6+ / 500+ mbps Multiple questions….I just hooked the Boost up to solve the dropping issue. It is setup and shows in the app, but my system still shows connected to my wifi, should it be connected to the boost? And how do I do that? Also, I get random drops while playing music streamed from Apple Music. Sometimes the system will emit what sounds like static for a minute then drop, other times the Playbar will just stop playing, then the One will stop. After a minute or two they come back one at a time, other times I have to tell Alexa to start playing again. I’ve had the internet provider out to check the system, they show no random drops in service.I’m very new to the Sonos system, love the sound! Please help. My fiancée wants to get rid of the system, I’ll get rid of her before I drop Sonos, just need it to work well. Thanks, Briley.

For my relatives I have been trying to connect in-ceiling Sonos speakers to multiple (2) BR100 bridges, but without any succes. Both BR100 bridges don’t show any light on top, even though I connected them to a power outlet, as well as the UTP/ethernet cables to the router. (the cabled connection works on other devices such as laptops)The connection worked until the router got replaced by a newer one. The new router (a Huawei EG8145V5) supports 802.11ac dual-frequency bands. Could it be that the BR100 doesn’t support this wifi band?As far as I’ve understood, the BR100 is End of Life. Should we get a newer bridge model?Or is there anything else we can do? E.g. do certain router settings need to be applied? As for the in-ceiling speakers I have no idea which model they are, but they worked before with the BR100 on the old router. Also, when checking the Sonos mobile apps, I believe we were unable to find the speakers separately (without the bridge). So presuming they need the bridge (?). M

We have Spotify Premium Duo, which includes two accounts with different username/passwords.But when we use the Sonos 2 app, in our home 5.1 surround livingroom to listen to music, all my private playlists and recent played songs etc. shows up on my partners Sonos 2 app.I don’t want my partner to see what songs or other audio and playlists I have created or listened to.And actually, I have an old Sonos setup too in my office, which is where I play most of my Spotify playlists (that room use the old Sonos app). I don’t tend to use our Sonos 2 system for music apart from on a Saturday night, rest of the time I only use our Sonos system for TV/Netflix.So, how do I:Block/stop my Spotify Playlists / private listen activities and recent played songs etc. show up on my partners iPhone when we both use the Sonos 2 app on our phones? I want my Spotify things to only show on my Phone, not on my partners. I don’t want to see her Spotify activities either of course.  Thanks,CatDad

I have several TuneIn radio stations saved in My Sonos. Recently, when I try to change from one station to another, I’ll see the icon at the bottom of the app change to the new station but the audio stays at the old station Reselecting the new station usually switches over the audio. anyone else have this problem or (hopefully) a solution?

Hi,  I’ve purchased some Sonos products (three room groups) to use at our family cabin. There are four families that stay there, one family at a time. Some are Sonos believers and some (hopefully) are future enthusiasts. There is wifi with internet, password protection that is available to everyone.I’m looking for feedback regarding the simplest configuration that will allow each family to use the system during their stay, using their own streaming services without seeing others accounts. My thoughts so far… Create an email account for the house (comcast) and use that to create a Sonos account with a password we can share. This way nobody’s personal email and passwords are used.    Suggest each family download the Sonos app.     They can either add or remove their streaming apps to the sonos account or they can stream from services like Spotify or Amazon Music (?). If they stream directly from Spotify I believe they still benefit from using the Sonos app to control volumes and groups s

Hi added the play 1 gen 1 to S1 app I have added sonos radio but when you search again for music it just hangs

Why isn’t there a song radio function for Tidal in the Sonos app. I used Spotify for a long time, they have one and it’s such a nice feature...

The music (files) that I downloaded from Itunes to my PC are in a mpeg-4(protected) format.  I’ve tried converted into MP3, however due to the protection/DRM the file will not convert into MP3.Any suggestions or solutions?

Hi Guys,I have the latest sonos app version (15.1.1) and the latest iOS firmware (16.3.1) and i can’t see the controls sonos app on my lock screen. The few same issues related on the forum are outdated. Can you help me please to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance,Regards.I have 3 Play:1 and 1 Roam at home. Moderator note: We updated this article in October 2023 with new information below. We’ve removed the ability to control the Sonos app for iOS using lock screen controls and device hardware buttons. The way these features were architected do not meet Apple’s experience guidelines for developers and no longer offer a reliable control experience. The alternatives to controlling volume, mute, tracks that I’m aware of are:Voice control (acknowledging OP rejects this option) Opening up app on phone (again, acknowledging rejection) ‘hard buttons’ on the speakers themselves. For home theatre room, TV remote controls will control volume and mute Various third party smart home remotes Using a

My Play 5 v1 was working fine a few days ago.  I can browse my music on my Synology NAS via wifi network but it no longer plays. I get the error message unable to play xxx access to my server denied. I have tried rebooting everything. There have not been any updates in this period. Anyone any ideas?

Hi community!I have a Smartthings hub and I can control my Sonos from my Smartthings app. The wife would like a button/control on the wall to turn Sonos on/off. Any suggestions on this? Thanks so much :-)Kasper

At work my boss has his own Spotify account on his iphone.I have my own Spotify account with an android phone. We each added our Spotify accounts to Sonos app with different names. But my account will not display. It defaults to his account. We have my name checked on the Sonos app. How do we get both accounts to work on the Sonos app?

Hi, Is there any chance of looking at the sequence of options when browsing in music services so that the ‘Add to end of queue’ and ‘Replace Queue’ are not beside each other? Very easy to hit wrong option and end up losing list without any warning. Other option would be to put an ‘are you sure’ step in the process if you choose the ‘Replace Queue’ option.  Thanks, David

Hi all, Is there any difference to the sound quality when streaming from Spotify from within the Sonos app vs in Spotify app and airplay?I have 2 x Era and sub connected.  thanks sam

If you listen to a song on Apple Music, when your playlist stops, if you have infinity ticked, it continues to play artists like that. Sonos is now supporting that. I’ve had the Sonos (latest software) continue playing after an album similar tracks. This is new.Except the Sonos Mac app doesn’t show it’s still playing, what it’s playing or the ability to stop!!! So you have to tap the speaker (or use the little widget I am using also).Looks like Apple have unlocked a feature and the Sonos Mac app (don’t know about others) is needing to catch up.

Most frustrating part of the app is that I can’t adjust all the different speakers to the same volume level with a one-button click. Like a “sync all volumes now” button.Anyone else experience this frustration? It seems like such a straightforward feature versus having to individually slide 10 different speaker zones when you want to volume level.

When I stream music with the Sonos App from Amazon Music Unlimited to my Sonos Arc + Sub 3 + 2 ERA 300 surround, the volume increases a lot when a Dolby Atmos track plays. I need to lower the volume for at least 10%. Then when a HD or ULTRA HD track follows I need to come back to the initial volume. For example if the standard volume for a HD or ULTRA HD track would be 20%, the same volume for a Dolby Atmos track would be 10%.Setting the lecture mode in fading (“fondu enchaîné” in my french app), doesn’t fix the problem. It’s really annoying !Does somebody know how to fix it ?

For several months now if I try to update the Sonos controller when prompted by the Max controller after I’ve entered my Mac password and the install downloads it fails. I have to manually remove and re-install from the web. Not a big deal but wanted to mention it so the developers may see
