Hi. I have 2 era 300’s set up as a stereo pair. One is connected line in to a Sony turntable so I can listen to vinyls. I want to be able to switch now and again to make them part of surround sound set up in same room. I want them as rear surrounds to a beam and Sub when watching movies. I understand there is no quick way to do this. (Which is frustrating) so I have to unpair the dress then set up as surround sounds via beam setting. My issue is, I cannot unpair the 2 erra 300’s. Just keeps saying unable to unpair check network. I’ve tried unplugging all devices, factory resetting the erras. Still can’t unpair them. Spent an hour on the phone to Sonos and still facing the issue. They’ve told me to unplug everything inc router, sky boxes etc. I can't do that everytime I want to switch from surrounds to stereo pair. Any advice is welcome.
Hi Folks, there’s an unofficial Android TV app being developed, the developer (not me!) is asking for people to trial it before it’s released. The developer has been really responsive and communicative re. anything I’ve suggested so far, and the app is looking really promising. It may well be the exact thing that I’ve been looking for to replicate the “now playing” screen used by John Darko in his YouTube videos when reviewing audio equipment- but the Sonos. There’s a reddit community here with details of how you can join: https://www.reddit.com/r/TVONOS/And github here: https://github.com/robwebset/TVONOS-Public
There’s a five year old thread (now closed) asking for this to be addressed and many comments agreeing and proposing potential fixes.I’d like to revive the converstion because it’s so much part of a good playback experience to be able to change what’s coming without stopping play in order to do so. Surely this is a necessary functionality for any music app!!
nowadays every Sunday spoiled with this new Sonos controller, i can’t find a * thing! the * who developed this so called upgrade should never have been hired. can i download n re-install the old version please, please, please, please….. PLEASE !!!*Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*
With the new app is there a way to create multiple households? Does the concept of multiple households still exist in new controller app?
Does anybody know how exactly the Sonos Music Library update process works ?I get intermittent update failures when initiating the update from my PC Sonos Controller app, but the proverbial “//nas/music_share folder is no longer available” message will always appear within the first few seconds of the update. If it gets beyond this then the update proceeds for sometimes hours, but will work.I just wonder what exactly is happening in those first few seconds that causes the error and then when you get past this point what is then happening. My understanding from Sonos is that once the update is underway all communication is between the Sonos speakers and the NAS drive (in my case) and the index is then replicated around each of the speakers or Amps. Apart from initiating the update, the Controller (PC) plays no part.It seems there’s some initiation process right at the start that frequently fails, throws the error message to the Controller and doesn’t move on to the main update.Out of int
Has Sonos/Last.FM scrobbling been dropped? It’s not working for me (at least from my iOS app). This article seems to support the observation. For those of us using Sonos to stream otherwise unScorobble-able services like Apple Music, it's such a loss. I know Sonos has bigger problems, but if anything can be brought to bear from this end to get us scrobbling again, we'd be so grateful.
I have 6 and unless you want to play un plug one plug in other down load sonos 1 download sonos 2. redownload app, delete app plug in holding button until light blinks white and red. Hold button down until green light blinks complete trash
**Alternative app that works perfectly with my Sonos system**The Sonophone app works perfectly and now I can finally use my Sonos system again. The new Sonos app is unreliable and unresponsive. For Sonos to release this update with so many flaws was negligent and incompetent. It made my (extensive and very expensive) Sonos system unusable.
My Sonos app is multiple zones and we can’t figure out how to get them back. Any suggestions?
Just commenting here. I suppose I’m yet another frustrated user approaching the end of my Sonos relationship. I have mostly wired Sonos amps with a few scattered wireless devices (soundbars and freestanding Sonos speakers. I’ve had constant issues for years. sporadic functionality. Everyone’s answer always seems to be unstable network. But I’m pretty confident that’s not the problem. If so it is the only set of devices that ever has an issue. today I deleted and reloaded the Sonos app rebooted my wireless rebooted all my Sonos devices trying to fix a problem. . Sonos sees titles online just fine, it can see the Devices on my network , but when you go to play a title it stalls and comes back with an error message that says something went wrong. Do t know what that would be because their error messages give you no clue. Nothing seems to work to fix it. I am beyond tired of this s***. Last Christmas before A 200 person party at the house Sonos has been working for days nonstop perfectly
I have Android controllers and have been investigating rolling back to S1 in search of stability and the functions I got used to over the years which have now disappeared.I dug an old P5 and an old Android tablet out of storage and set up the S1 App on the tablet from the App Store and on my Win 10 PC from Sonos’ website. Setup went smooth as silk (I didn't even have to power off my S2 speakers, everything on the same sub-net) and I now have S1 v11.14 build 572150280 on both my PC and the tablet and S1 v11.14 build 572151190 firmware on the P5. Sonos Radio was there already and I installed Amazon Music, BBC Sounds and the excellent iBroadcast having spent 5 days uploading my library to it non-stop over my pitifully slow broadband connection. All these work perfectly and I thought I was on a roll. Then I went to hook up to my music library copies of which, for whatever reason, sit on two separate Synology NAS units, both of which are on ethernet connections. My S2 system runs off one o
So my App (running on a Samsung S21 Ultra) doesn't always show the correct song being played through my speakers. If I pause and then restart, it updates and shows the correct song.Any ideas?
Before, when I was on my WiFi at work, the app would automatically select the Sonos system I have connected to it and I could go straight to playing music. When I was at home it would do the same. NOW, the app makes you select the Sonos system from the “System settings” before you can start playing music. When multiple rooms are grouped together, the only way to change the volume of the rooms individually is to open the group volume and use the sliders. Before, I seem to remember that a long hold on the main volume button would pull up all devices in that group and allow you to change them individually without navigating away from the “Now playing” screen. I'm sure there’s others, but this is it for now. Thank you for all you efforts to continue to make improvements.
Hi, I'm really struggling to add my music library. Has anyone been able to do it on the new android app? Many thanksGreg
I have had my personal music collection on NAS drive since buying my Sonos system. now the second NAS has broken and I need a new one. I don’t plan to keep anything private on the NAS and need the cheapest 1gig NAS around that’s simple to operate as I’m not technically. what do people recommend please?my music collection is in iTunes but you can’t play it directly from there!
The latest Sonos App update resets all sound eq settings to 0 and turns off trueplay tuning.
This new version of the SONOS app 80.07 has been frustrating! We all agree the earlier version worked and was not broken. Anyway… big surprise this evening - my playlists have just appeared in the app. Was this scheduled upgrade? First time I have seen them on the app since the “upgrade”.
I downloaded the latest Android update. It found my system on the first try. I usually had to try several times before. The controls seem more responsive. However, when you try to play an album from Idagio, it still will not let you play the complete album like it would do before. This makes the app almost useless with a streaming service that has albums.I am forced to play music from Idagio on my phone and then cast it Sonos. They doesn't always work. Sonos continues to infuriate their loyal customer base. There are multiple people who have Sonos based on my recommendation. I can no longer recommend this to anyone.I tried to leave feedback on the Play Store for the new update. You can no longer rate the app. The rating capability has been turned off. This is still the worse software update on history with no rollback provision. I had found an image of an earlier release and installed that a few months ago and was happy. However, Sonos forced me to upgrade to this disaster, and now I am
I still wish the Sonos App would just consistently play music on my selected speakers without dropouts, missing rooms, etc. (you can add all the features you want, but if you can’t play music at all what’s the point?), but once you fix THAT…On an iPad using Stage Manager, if the Sonos App window is at certain heights (such as any hight but full horizontally) the layout of a search item detail sheet is messed up, removing the handle to swipe down to dismiss from view. If you grow the window to full height the handle is there, but some of us would like to use a smaller Sonos window to control things while using other windows horizontally. Here’s a video of the issue and photos are below.Again, please fix the core functionality first, but add this to the list.
Just me or is the Amazon Music interface within the app a suboptimal experience? I primarily use playlists (that I curated). I have to tap at least twice to get to anything I created via “view more” then playlists. Spotify list what is relevant to me front and center when I open the app and I can get there with 1 tap.In Amazon it’s “content for you” but none of that is relevant until I at least click into playlists then recently played. It’s at least three taps to open a playlist and the first two taps take a sec to load.
Hey folks, More than 2 months now have gone by and I am still happily on my old S2 app, all updates disabled. Why? Because the new app with all its updates is sooooo useless, slow, laggy etc. Here are some (very technical) explanations as to why it is so (not by me):https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/what-happened-sonos-app-technical-analysis-andy-pennell-wigwc And here some suggestions on how to fix it (not by me):https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/1dy8srm/common_fixes_on_a_home_network_for_mdns_new_sonos/https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/1dyxx6o/the_latest_info_on_fixing_your_completely_gone/ Now the bad news: the fixes do not work … at least not for me.I have an Asus AIMesh for years with some powerful routers interconnected. Same Network/Subnet? Check. Check Wi-Fi Isolation? Check. Multicast/IGMP Settings. Check. Never touched these, they were always enabled. But the whole system is still laggy (with the new app only). The first article mentions the chatty communnication via
Feature request:Bring back ability to control volume with iOS (iPhone, iPad) physical volume buttons. The removal of it is exceedingly aggravating. The work around sucks. I will own 11 Sonos devices. But I will buy no more as long as it works this way. This situation is so poorly communicated and badly implemented that I am gone as a customer until you resolve this.
On the new app, if you try to disable wifi on a wired device, such as an Arc or Sub, it will hang, crash, and then it may even say it's disabled. But then the device reboots and its back to enabled. When you do it from the old app, it properly disables the wifi. This is easily reproduced 100% of the time. Please do not respond with why you think wifi should be on - my entire system is wired and works perfectly wired. Anytime I add a new device, I have to dig up an old iPad with the old app on it to disable the wifi because the new app does not work. Also, why doesn’t the Mac app or website have the features to disable wifi or add components?
I changed my router so I had to setup my speakers again. You force me to download your mobile app.You force me to update my speakers (Play1) for some reason (why do wireless speakers NEED updates to work?)Your force me to download you “Controller S2” app on my PC, because for some reason, the Controller S1 is no longer compatible WITH THE SAME SYSTEM I HAD FOR YEARS?!You say it will “update” my controller and transfer my previous settings. It did not update, I had to manually install your new S2 Controller. It did not transfer anything - all my playlists are GONE.I spent 20 minutes to setup the system I already had, you forced me to download a bunch of bullcrap I did not ask for and did not need claiming it was necessary AND you did not even transfer my playlists? Everything is just gone? And no doubt you guys will keep churning out new updates that I am FORCED to download because the speakers will just stop working altogether for some reason, even though the updates change absolutely not
