Anyone take the time to listen to some of the curated Sonos Presents channels? Likes? Dislikes? In general, except for The DP Songteller Radio, I have enjoyed them all in bits and pieces here in there. Enjoy a little bit of background and stories on why they picked the songs but not too much. A lot of music I hadn’t heard or normally wouldn’t listen to but enjoy none the less. I like the variety. Really enjoy the new D’Angelo & Third Man Records and the Brittany Howard was pretty good as well. Wish they would be longer as they start to recycle after a few hours. Right now Sound System is a tough listen to me as it is just way all over the board and I don’t have a schedule of what “show” or style of music is playing when. At least Apple Music 1 etc. has a schedule for you to see. My thoughts.
Come on Sonos it’s 2021 some of us have wireless Beats 1 headphones some have Bose some have Sony etc let us have the option of listening to SONOS RADIO privately at home or on the move especially as your investing in Artists having shows on Soundsystem etc or consider releasing your own SONOS wireless Headphones Anyone from the Sonos Development Team wish to comment would be most welcomed
My app consistently gets an error when opening, sometimes connects and often then drops the connection once music is playing. It does this on theee different iPhones. I have reset the Play 1, Re booted the router, checked MAC addresses match on the router but it still happens. Is it just a completely useless app as this has been going on for a year and forums seem to all have the same issue?
Hi,It would be great if one could create a library of favorite albums from different sources (local NAS, streaming services) and access them in a structured manner. For example like the music library, via genre, artist etc. or at least via a self-created folder structure or tags. Regards, Robert
I strongly suggest to Sonos to add Dark Mode / Dark Theme to the S2 app for iOs.All my apps are dark and only Sonos S2 is irritating bright…..
Hi All, I have two sonos ones (gen2) paired and now two fives paired in the same room. Firstly I presumed giving the fives the same room name "kitchen" as the two ones would automatically group them into one set so that anything I did in the room would be applied to all speakers ...i.e adjusting the volume on one speaker would do the same to all 4. Currently it only applies to that single pair. Within the app I have the two rooms grouped for volume and that all works ok. Within "System" the "Group" option is greyed out also. Should I be able to use the physical volume button on my sonos one to also effect the five. Pause/play/skip works across all speakers. I bet this is an option but need some help please!?
Can you please add a toggle on the app (android, apple) to switch to bluetooth? It's really frustrating I have to switch from wifi to bluetooth… I have to go over to the speaker and manually put it in bluetooth mode vs. just using the app and putting it into bluetooth mode or at least add the functionality on Google or Alexa assistant to voice command to turn on bluetooth for the Sonos Move (and other devices).ThanksP.S. can someone forward this to headquarters? Thanks in advance
I avoided updating my Mac to Catalina because of the issues with playlist and Sonos. Is it safe to move up to Big Sur? Our security software says to wait for at least two revisions to Big Sur as Apple is famous for correcting errors. What to do?
Looking at this community as more than just a support/help/complaint place but an actual community of people like-minded and passionate in an enjoyment of music, home theater and everything Sonos. I thought it would be fun to see what music services people use and an idea of how often. Unfortunately, Sonos does not have a Vote button like some community rooms so we can do it the old fashioned way, here’s mine that my family uses:Paid Subscriptions: Apple Music: 20% (mostly teenagers), Sonos Radio HD: 30% (wife and I), Amazon Music: 10% (freebie part of Prime, teenagers using Alexa), Calm: <5% (was education worker freebie), Sirius XM: 30% (freebie included with lifelong Sirius subscription from a long time ago, wife and I).Unpaid Subscriptions: Music Library: 5% (mostly me), Pandora: <5%, Audible, Bandcamp, Libby, LiveXLive, SoundCloud, Spotify, Tunein.
Hi. A problem with Volume Normalization still persists on Sonos. I have all my aac and alac music with both replay gain and iTunes iVolume tags applied and there is still a problem with the music playing either too loud or too quiet when shuffle mode is applied. The problem is also there when streaming from Spotify and Amazon Music.
Hi, I have created a simple sonos linux controller. It’s not meant to be player. But it might help you if you just want to skip a song or change the volume. https://github.com/tomasbulva/open-sonos-controller/releasesAny suggestions and feature requests are welcome. Also I only have 3 rooms and only sonos playbar which seems to be discontinued.Help with testing on the newer hardware is very welcome.
So I noticed with my one of my Sonos speakers under my modem info showed that my exes cell phone was the host under my speaker which has never been seen even my own stuff doesn’t show up under there I’m just wondering like if they may of hacked into my sustem because a lot of weird stuff is happened 3 of computer got deleted
Sonos desktop app keeps popping up on my screen with each new song played. This is quite annoying when you have other windows open, doing work and it pops up forcing you to close it. Is there a setting I'm not seeing?
It seems like a missed opportunity not to have included a nice 10 band equaliser in the software.
We have the S2 app. Both my wife and I have our own YouTube playlists. But we can not share(or see) one another's playlist. How can this be arranged?
2020-12-10 12:29:13I am trying to add the Music folder on my DS720+ to my Sonos application and get error message that says "Sonos was unable to add the music folder". According to Sonos "To use a NAS drive with Sonos, the NAS must support the SMB(v1)/CIFS file-sharing protocol.".I cannot find anything on the 720+ that shows that particular file-sharing protocol.Help please.Hi, Sonos uses SMB 1. Please check that SMB1 is the Minimum file transfer protocol on your NAS. Go to Control Panel > File Services > SMB > click on the Advanced Settings button > then change the SMB protocol and hit Apply. ______________________________________________________________AWESOME! Great support – it works… I am running Windows 10. I will share your response with the Sonos community.Thank you!Bob Alford
You keep doing updates for stupid little tweaks nobody Really cares about and screwing up our systems every time. Once again I just spent over an hour uninstalling and reinstalling your app, unplugging and replugging in all 6 of my speakers. Disabling Sonos in alexa, re-enabling Sonos. Searching for speakers in the Sonos app. Once again I have everything working. Next week you will tweak some other setting and there goes the whole system again. Wait until you actually have an update people care about.
Having had a Spotify Premium account for many years now and never been entirely happy that I was getting the most out of the speakers in my listening room I took advantage of the Tidal subscription offer and did a month’s trial of their HiFi subscription over Christmas. My initial findings are below and I’d be very interested if anyone else has carried out a similar exercise.Executive Summary:To save you reading all of the below, my conclusions and findings are as follows:Tidal HiFi > FLAC >> Spotify Premium but only on high-end set ups. Arcam’s 15 year old DACs are noticeably better than the DAC in Sonos’ Port Tidal & Sonos is unstable for large (greater than 3 Zone set ups)As a result of point three above, and the fact that it only offered an advantage in 1/8th of my set up I shall not be renewing my Tidal subscription as it does not offer (me) sufficient value for money.System:8 Sonos Zones on S2 consisting of: Play:1, 2x One SL (paired), One (2nd Gen), Play:3, Five, Mo
Have (2) moves that I love but would love even more if you guys can help. I pair them for stereo and have tried to play them via wifi / Sonus App and Airplay with the Movie from the MAC on wifi and it works but not in stereo / both speakers. It drops to one speaker only. Any help on how to make it work?
S2 app should allow saving of multiple Trueplay tunings. One benefit for this is that you can easily go back to a previous Trueplay configuration if your latest Trueplay tuning made the sound worse for your Sonos setup. Also, with the reports that Trueplay gives different results depending on the iOS device you’ve used (e.g., https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/haxk68/sonos_arc_metallic_sound_sonos_community_please/fv7id97/), saved custom Trueplay profiles allow easy/swift comparison between two different tunings.
My son recently downloaded the Sonos app to his new Android. Apparently, he was prompted to update the Play 1 speakers I bought last year. That rendered the controller on my iPhone 5 unusable. This happened to me once before, when he did the same thing on what was then his iPhone 5. That fubar’d the contoller on my Blackberry 10. So I bought a used Kindle Fire, on someone else’s advice, which turned out to be incompatible. A few months later, I inherited his old iPhone. I should have stopped him!
There have been several posts in the past on this forum asking for a Sonos controller for the Roku. Now there is one. This controller will let you control your Sonos equipment from your Roku using the Roku remote. It shows on-screen album art, song/artist/album information, room and player information, and volume controls. You can play from your Sonos music services, your music library, or from line-in.The app uses the Sonos API, so it is limited to what the API currently provides. As the Sonos API evolves, more features will become available. The API currently requires the source to be from your favorites, playlists, or line-in, so you will need to create favorites or playlists from your services or music library if you haven't already done so.The app will also respond to other Sonos controllers, so you can see the results of changes from other controllers on your screen as they happen.Following is a summary of the features of the Sonos Controller:S1 and S2 compatible. Virtually every time I access my S1 system on my PC it demands an update. A tedious process which can take a number of minutes. This is ridiculous. Surely it doesn’t need updating every 1 or 2 days?
Hi! Just wondering if there have been any suggestions of adding av «quick toggle» surronund on off in the main «arc» controll page? I think that would be an great controll to add, for when i am just watching news on the tv.
I was listening to Sunset Fuzz today and they played a gorgeous song that I’d like to track down. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find a track list for the songs they already played, and googling the only phrase I remember (something like “I won’t stop til I buy your land”) didn’t get me any hits. Is there any way to find a track listing for Sonos Radio channels? I know the one I’m looking for played at ~2:30pm Pacific Time Jan 1st. Thanks in advance
