I’ve got to setup five Galaxy Tab 8’s tomorrow which require ability to play local music stored on the device. 4 months ago i know this wasn’t possible - has there been any updates that have fixed this before i spend ages trying to configure them. If not - suggestions at best work around would be appreciated as i don think my client will be happy if i tell them they need 5 music servers too :(
Starting last night my connection to Amazon music is failing. I have an active Amazon Prime account. I have deleted, re-added, and re-authorized the Amazon service in Sonos multiple times. I have had one of my (5) SONOS ONE G2 speakers connected via ethernet cable for SEVERAL months without trouble. My home internet configuration has not changed in months. I use the Amazon stations daily. Still getting the same message: “Unable to play “ANYSTATION” - the connection to Amazon Music was lost”. I have submitted a support diagnostic to Sonos. The confirmation number is 833045471. Please advise.
Now that Google Play has moved to Youtube Music and no longer supports thumbs up/down on Sonos I’d like to try out a service that does! I can’t find a list anywhere, and trial and error is very time consuming. Is there a list somewhere? If not, can we crowdsource one here? At least as a snapshot in time.
So, I heard a demo of the Sonos One SL (These things are awesome speakers, no microphones - some of us old folks love the fact that there aren’t microphones!) and the sound was excellent. I fell in love. We are looking for a good sound solution in multiple rooms streamed from my Android device. I saw the Android on the side of the box, and bought two units home from the store that day. After a neve-racking 3 hours, I couldn't do anything besides play Pandora / Spotify / YouTube Music from INSIDE the Sonos app. Each Sonos sub-app was a castrated version of the real thing you might get from Google Play. Watching a You Tube video in the You Tube App? No sound thru these speakers. Using Disney Plus? Nope, can’t do it. Using ANY Android app not in available Sonos’ library. Sorry, no sound for you. Apparently, you can send local audio directly from an Apple Device to these speakers using AirPlay. Good for you guys. Congratulations. I bet that feels great. But please, Sonos, take the Android
For some time, our Sonos sound bar went off when we used our XR11 remote to turn off our TV. Then it stopped. The XR11 always worked to control the Sonos Sound Bar volume but at some point, the sound di not turn off when we turned off the TV, which was annoying -- we would have to turn the volume all the way down. I posted about it here: Mystery solved! At some point, I must have changes the topical fiver connections from the TV to the cable box. Turning off the TV does noting for our cable box, so the sound signal still came to the Sons. I moved the optical fiber back tot he TV and, when the TV goes off, the Sonos goes off. Mystery solved.
I am curious if ANYONE has ever had Sonos Radio play properly? After 7 years and many, many hours of research and talking with customer support, I have not had luck. Highly disappointed in this system - who cares how it sounds when the content is all chopped up
Has Sonos ever provided an explanation for remaining stubbornly opposed to providing at least a 5- or 7-band user controlled EQ in the app? Online searches reveal a fair amount of discussion of this topic over the years, but I can’t seem to find any definitive explanation from Sonos - just a lot of talk about Trueplay, which really doesn’t do it for me.
Since upgrading to S1 11.2.4 the internet radio station Phsychedelik Ambient will not play. I have tried TuneIn, myTuner Radio and Sonos radio all with the same result. Station plays fine using TuneIn web app. Appears to be a Sonos issue. Occasionally when I attempt to start it the TuneIn lead in plays over and over, station never starts. My system is PC S1 control app, bridge and 2 Play3s.How can I get this fixed?
This is a post to help others with Google Search. The problems I had, and the fix.On my Samsung Galaxy S9+, never had a problem, when I changed the router and reset the two ARCs to use it. Wifi & wireless, flawless. The older Note 8 device? When it was the S1, it worked, then the upgrade to S2, worked for a while, then stopped completely. I never got it up and running again. As I work as an IT professional, this was a challenge. I figured it was a combination of older Android on the Note 8, security, the Wifi type 2.4ghz vs 5ghz, some weird configuration. Finally I had wired with RJ45 ethernet cables between the router and the Den TV for “wired” Netflix, Chromecast & Amazon Prime, with a cheap 5-port hub behind the TV.I plugged one of the ARCs wired into the hub, and when it powered up, Lo & Behold, the Note 8 now sees ALL the ARCs in the network!!!So if at least ONE Sonos speaker is wired network to the router, it acts as a “gateway” to the other speakers on the Wifi through
**Please no comments about what the human ear can or can not hear -- plenty of existing threads for that debate.**I went down the rabbit hole of re-ripping my SACD/CD/Vinyl into higher quality files now that S2 supports 24bit - 48Hz. I’ve found that these files play pretty well direclty in the S2 app even though some exceed the “1536 bit rate” mentioned here. If there is a way to play even higher resolution files, I’d like to do so?I also wondered if my 5.2 Home Theater Sonos setup with Arc, 2 Fives, and 2 Subs might play Multi-channel FLAC files. I’m curious if others have tried this expirement and if so, what have you found? My Setup AppleTV4k → Arcana (highly recommend) → Samsung TV and Sonos ArcSurround Music Library running on the latest Plex Media ServerHere is what I have found:AppleTV using free VLC App with Plex Media: Plays up to 7.1 24bit/192Hz Flac files and displays as “Multichannel PCM 7.1” in System → About My System. However, the UX sucks. The rear channel is m
Are the following features on the roadmap and when will they become available?it has to be easily possible to see in which playlists a song is if I search for one? playlist merging (including handling of duplicates)? Sorting of song / albums according to date added to playlist or library?this should do it for the start
So this keeps happening all the time on my android phone but the app is working perfectly on my I Pad, can anyone please help.
Hello Everyone,Just an idea for the menu My Sonos, I find that the different icons are a little sad in grey colour.Sonos has (I think) the possibility to modify this menu with more colours or the album cover sleeves by example.Kind regards.
hello, i would like to have Yandex Music (Яндекс.Музыка) on my Sonos, like many other people: https://en.community.sonos.com/music-services-and-sources-228994/yandex-music-yandeks-muzyka-6235898
I know a lot of people have asked about sorting playlists in an order for which you do not get a field. However, in “Your Library”… Albums, my saved music, you have the artist name and album name yet that list is sorted by the order in which I added them to the library. That makes it so impossible to find that I end up having to just search which gets tedious. Can there be a sort option like “title” or “Artist” such that I can browse that list in an easier fashion? I assume you can sort after you get the data from Spotify on data fields that are visible in the list?
I would like to be able to listen to Radiooooo.com (also an iOS app) on Sonos. Is there any way to suggest radio streams to Sonos? This one would be a little involved than a simple internet radio stream since the app lets you choose a country and a decade and streams commercial-free music from there. How ‘bout it Sonos?
Hi,Firstly, I'd like to say I love my sonos system. I consider my self a sonos super user, I funnel thousands of tracks through the app on my phone. I have soundcloud, bandcamp, Spotify, mixcloud, multiple computers running as servers, I even have access to a few of my mates soundcloud and bandcamp accounts aswell. The app is great but there are improvements that need to be made/fixed. I searched on other threads but couldn't find the same issues that I'm having. My issues are more to do with the layout and ease of playing music and nothing to do with system connectivity. Miss hitting buttons, slides, volumes etc. First - On the music playing screen :1 - the slider for skipping through the track is to small, countless times I've gone to slide forward through a track and accidentally hit the title of the track bringing up the menu for that particular track (ie like, dislike, playlist selection). There's a lot of real estate on the screen maybe make cover pic smaller or move slider. 2 -
Has Sonos STILL not permitted Harmony Hub or other third party controllers to select Line-In as source on Connect or other Sonos devices with a line-in? This would make a world of difference in making my Connect, Play:5 and Amp useful! Please make this happen soon Sonos
Why must Sonos HD radio have to interrupt (at very high volume) your HD Radio Stream and obnoxiously tell you what station you were listening to? This is the MAIN reason I cancelled the service.
Hi, I’m trying to run the trueplay optimisation but when the noise test starts at the very beginning it seems it never ends. Attached the screenshot. Any advice on how to proceed?I already followed the basic instructions: no noise in he room, no other open apps, no Bluetooth devices connected…thanksN
I am once again asking if there is anyway to sort folders in the music library independently? For my podcasts I want it sorted by name, for music by song number. I asked this question a year ago. Others have asked for this earlier. I’m still using S1...is this any different in the new controller? If not, all I can say is this is really bad that something like this hasn’t been implemented.
According to support.sonos.com, in the ‘My Music’ tab of the Sonos app you can “Listen to all the music you already own and love, and browse over 30 million songs in the Apple Music catalog.” I am yet to figure out how you can ‘browse’ the Apple Music catalogue (short of downloading them all into your own library beforehand!). Does anybody know how this is possible? Thanks.
Anyone know why, after I hide the “Recently Played” section in my app it will reappear a few days later? (Likewise, sometimes the My Sonos items get re-arranged). You’d think these settings would be stored to remain consistent and to be re-applied after any major app updated. Anyone else see this?Any ideas?
I just signed up for the Sonos Radio HD service. When I go to browse the Sonos Radio music service there has been no change and I can't see any of the HD radio stations. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My whole system has been upgraded to S2 and my Sonos account is based in the UK. Thanks.
Feature Request: Display the list of playlists in music services’ Libraries alphabetically. There currently is no way to change the display order of music playlists (for Spotify and Youtube Music, at least). That’s pretty terrible - the SMAPI spec does not require any particular ordering from the service, nor does it allow the app to specify an order, so it’s basically luck of the draw. I expect some services to return data alphabetically, others by most recently or frequently played, yet others completely unsorted (“hash order”, as it were). For search results, I expect Sonos to respect the returned order, assuming that the service will be attempting to return the best match first. For a generic getMetadata response, the expectation is clearly invalid, and, consistency between services aside, it’s a terrible browsing experience. The SMAPI spec doesn’t support additional data such as recency or play count, so sorting by those in the app isn’t an option. Fine. But “alphabetically by title”
