It's not possible to select more than one room when setting up a alarm. You can select play on grouped rooms, but you are not always certain that the desired rooms is in the group. It would be so nice if you could select more rooms. Drop the radio buttons and make check boxes instead
Whilst reading the Flutter 2.0 announcement from Google, it states that Sonos use Flutter to build their apps. With the 2.0 release it means that same app can be deployed to web/windows/mac with no code changes. Do we think that Sonos will release their app on these platforms?
I find it quite annoying that when you select a station or a song or anything from the IOS sonos app (S2) it collapses all categories. To illustrate just search for SomaFM under stations. It will show a few under Sonos Radio (and others too). Expand that section and you will see around 10-15 different ones. Scroll down and select something from the bottom of the list. It plays it but then collapses the whole section so if you want to quickly try another station you have to expand again and scroll.
Up dated to IOS14 yesterday, SI app refused to work. After an hour of doing the turn it on and off again dance, with no joy… in installed the app and reinstalled it.The app then asked permission to connect to Wif and Bluetooth- system is now up and running.
When my Play:1 switched to a loud, obnoxious song I wanted to skip, I was not able to do it because my iPad’s S1 app insisted I input my Sonos password to confirm I wanted to continue to use S1, else it would “upgrade” me to S2. I picked up my Android phone and got the same message. I climbed up on a chair to reach the play/pause button on my speaker, then relaxed enough to look up the Sonos password, which I had not used in many months, and was able to preserve my S1 system. I am very disappointed in the Sonos effort to blackmail users into switching to the inferior S2 software. Whenever I look up the S2 app on the Play or Apple stores, the first several pages of reviews are always the same - it does not work, the app constantly loses the speakers and the users have to spend time troubleshooting, with no useful help from Sonos, instead of listening to music. For those of us who are happy with our S1 systems, why can’t you just leave us alone and let us use the software we paid fo
I recently installed an iPad wall mount for controlling my Sonos system and smart home devices. In order to easily control both Sonos & Apple Home without switching screens, I’ve setup the two apps in split screen mode: This works really nicely, however, every time the Sonos app runs an update, the layout of the now playing view on the Sonos app gets squished to look like this (red border added): In order to fix it I have to remove the app from split screen mode and then re-add it. A minor annoyance, but I’m finding this is happening about once a week, and the idea with this wall mount is that I don’t have to fuss with anything and “it just works”. So I’m posting here hoping that someone @Sonos is listening and can report this bug to their iOS team. I submitted a diagnostic from my iPad controller while it was showing the squished view in the second photo.Diag #: 478660750
I just upgraded my controller to 12.2.2 (OS S2) and the iPhone app is now super slow, and sometimes freezes, any ideas or fixes out there?App tells me it’s also 12.2.2.I have done all the usual, reboots, resets etc - no changes. Other iPhones are also slow, also does not mater what source i am trying to play !!any ideas? And Happy New Year !!!!
Hi everyone,I was very excited to hear that Qobuz now supports Hi-Res streaming on Sonos S2 devices. However my excitement rapidly changed to dissapointment I realised that most of Qobuz’s catalogue is higher than the 24-bit/48 kHz which Sonos supports. Anything higher is played 16-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC which defeats the purpose. I have asked Qobuz if they could make their entire catalogue of Hi-res available in 24-bit/48 kHz but it is a big ask and I don’t hold that much hope that it will happen. I wonder what the community thinks about this. Thanks
Hi everyone, I am a developer and Im building a .NET app in order to play music from Sonos ZP100 using Spotify. Or alternatively with music plugged into an USB. I tried using the UPnP protocol but it doesn seem to be the right way to reproduce songs. I am only able to play pause stop seek next previous and volume controls but nothing else. Do somebody know how to do something similar? The perfect example is the SONOS S1 app that after linking spotify account can reproduce songs
Since you can’t choose the order that your streaming services are listed, the next best alternative is to just go to the Browse page where they are listed and then hit the star icon at the bottom of the page. That’ll take you to My Sonos where your most Recently Played places are. I listen to SiriusXM a lot and so it’ll show the channels that I’ve recently listened to.
Hi, probably an answered question but I can’t find the solution. I mainly listen to Sonos via my computer where I have a ton of saved playlists. If I open the phone app, there are zero saved anything. Thoughts?Thank you.
I had started using the Sonos Alarm feature. It never worked properly as often the Sono beep was playing instead of a song, sometimes the controls from the notified were not working unless I was first opening the Sonos App etc... Despite this it was at least somewhat working even if this is not the experiences you'd expect from a product like Sonos that it is not famous for being cheap. The newest issue, however, is that apparently after some updates the notifications on lock screen and on the main screen are completely gone. It is not possible to snooze or dismiss the alar. Anymore. The only notification present displays the Sonos controls as if I was simply playing music (play, pause, next, etc...) Hi folks,I hope you are well.Any plan to implement WPA-E in the near future? My Sonos Move is waiting for it :) And in terms of security and compatibility, that would be definitely an improvement.I hope this will happen, sooner or later. Thanks for your supportAndrea
It is really unbelievable that Sonos dares to force customers who bought products for thousands of euros to share location when one needs to add Sonos to a new WiFi router. I have bought the products when the terms were not as such, I find this disgusting. For me this is a reason to sell the products and look for alternatives.Customers should not accept suppliers become big brothers, or data gathering companies. Ok, when the product is cheap or for free, then it is understandable. But not for expensive products like Sonos.
I would like to have the info popup’s disappear quicker as they sit there for a good 5 seconds and you can't change the volume while they are active. Has anyone else experienced this? I was thinking they are no longer required after you have experienced Turning them on and off a few times. We all know what the buttons do after the first time using it and not being able to turn down the volume for what seems like ages while it blasts through the house is a total PITA. Maybe SONOS can put this in a future update of the app? Cheers 🍻
i realize that most of the community has moved on from the Sonos Controllers. I still have two and regardless of the fact that they are slow, I still like them.I have two ZP100’s and a ZP80 and I’ve often wanted to add another amp to my existing system without upgrading to S1.My system is on what I believe is the last firmware that supports the CR100 and that is 8.4. When I go to the Admin Panel, or whatever it is called, I can see the software version listed as 41.3-50131 which appears to match the build number listed in the screen capture above. There is a ton of gear on Fleabay and many of the items are ridiculously inexpensive. I’d like to try and find something that is on the same Firmware version as my system. So, here’s my question…...if i find a unit that is on the same Firmware version as my system, will it be pretty straight forward to add it? Thank you.
I have the Sonos app on my iPhone & iPad Pro. Last night when I went to use my App on my iPhone I get a blank screen on all screens. And on top it say Unable to connect to Sonos: Learn more. But I am still able to use the Sonos App on my iPad to control my music. Both are on the same wifi network. I can check in Settings > About My System and all my Sonos looks to be reading fine. The WM is 0 except for Move > 1. I have sent a diagnostic check. And I wanted to ask here before I try the several steps in the app for troubleshooting. So why is the app working fine on my iPad and not working on my iPhone?
Hi why is it not possible to control the volume on my Sonos devices using my Galaxy watch 46mm? I can change tracks and see the artwork for the track playing. When I adjust the volume via my watch it has no effect on Sonos.I have set the Sonos app volume control to control via other devices but still no joy. Adjusting the volume on my watch only changes the media volume on my Samsung S7 edge. Is there a setting I need to change somewhere?
The Android S1 controller app just updated. There is a new notification at the top of the screen saying “It's time to update to Sonos S2. You can schedule an automatic update or do it now. More information”. The notification is large, taking up about 10% of my phone's screen. There is no option to close this notification, unlike previous similar ones. I have decided I want to retain the S1 app and not update to S2. I only use Sonos to play local files from my NAS and have zero interest in any additional features. I previously understood that this is fine; the FAQ regarding the controller says that customers can continue to use the S1 Controller app if they so choose. I've been through all the app menus I can find, but cannot see a way to disable this notification. Does anyone know if there is an option to do this somewhere? Changing the app’s Android notification permissions doesn’t address this problem. Ideally I could permanently disable these notifications: I'm aware of S2 but don't
Attempting to add WRCH FM 100.5 to SONOS & Favorites on a S1 Controller, not successful, using Manage: Add Radio Station https://www.audacy.com/wrchhttps://www.radio.net/s/wrchAudacy, formerly Entercom, Not Listed in “ Add Music Services “Other stations listed with Audacy work OK,such as 1080 WTIC, but favorites show station as Radio.com StationNext step is ?
Just picked up a WD MYclloud Home NAS. I loaded my music on the WD My cloud. When I went to play the songs from the Sonos 1 controller, I noticed that there a lot of songs that were not properly categorized by Artist and Album. It lists the tracks as unknown artist and album. It seems like the metadata is missing. My music files were moved from my iTunes folder where it is saved by Artist/Album/Song title. The folder/files on the NAS look exactly like they do in the iTunes folder. It looks like it is happening with all my iTunes files that are MPEG audio files. I am using the S1 controller. Any one experience this and have a solution? Thanks!
Hi, I have a SONOS amp with 4 Monitor Audio C165 speakers connected. Prior to getting this setup in February 2021 I used Spotify premium, however I realised that Tidal appeared to offer consistently higher quality audio and even master files of some songs. In my naivety I signed up for their highest package thinking it would give me the best quality(not considering whether human ears can pick up on the differences between the higher quality files). Since researching the subject this last week, it seems clear that SONOS cannot reproduce the rates required for the master files. In short, my question to more experienced SONOS users and technophiles, is what streaming service is most suitable for wireless playback through the SONOS app?
Sonos S1 on iOS 14.4. Sonos S1 app has a persistent “It’s time tp update to Sonos S2” message that doesn’t go away. How do I clear this message?
I have a Sonos Amp driving my home theater along with a few different Sonos speakers throughout the house. When I play music, they’re all grouped together and sound amazing. When I’m watching TV, the other speakers need to be turned down or muted or it creates a pretty bizarre echo as the dialog is slightly out of sync. Every time I sit down to watch TV I’m in the Sonos app muting other speakers.Ungroup on Autoplay - this feature is ALMOST perfect. What I’d rather have is “mute other speakers on autoplay” so I don’t have to re-group things when it’s time to play music. Re-grouping takes a lot longer and requires a phone compared to setting volume quickly by tapping the speaker or using voice control. In fact, my perfect feature request is to remember volume levels for each source.Source switches to TV: 25% volume on Amp, 5% volume on all other speakers. Source switches to Spotify: 25% volume on all speakers.I manually do the two bullets above several times each day.Anyway, keep on keepi
When I do a song search while on the Sonos app with Spotify, I will get only a few results and most of the time not the song I am looking for. When I do the same search directly on the Spotify app, I always get many more options and actually will find the exact song. This is the reason I am saying Sonos App SUCKS. After paying big price for the Sonos device, in my mind, this situation should not be happening. (And please do not respond you need to subscribe to Sonos Radio...)
