Controllers & Music Services

I’ve connected my Move 2 via the MacOS app and am able to play music from my Mac.  I can’t seem to get it to connect on my iPhone using the iOS App.  It was working and was playing Spotify from my phone onto Move 2 but when I closed App and went back in it’s now showing Not Connected and has options to Add Speaker or Component or joint an existing system.  I can’t get either of them to work.  This has been a nightmare set up for something that should be so straightforward.  Not a good start for Sonos.

I have connected my Sonos Beam gen2 to my phone. All good. How can another member of the family control the device streaming and adjusting equalizer from his own phone?

Hello everyoneIs it possible to switch between work configurations? For example - to work in a surround configuration with 3 speakers (gen bem 2 + 2 era 100) **and at the push of a button** play stereo on 2 speakers (the same 2 speakers from the previous configuration, 2era100)

Several of my compilations (stored for many years on a NAS) now show up ‘empty’ like this in the new app (also missing album art)… I am not able to play them thru the app. However, with the pc controller I can play them normally (even though the order of songs is random). (With SonoPhone I can play the whole compilation but not the songs individually?). What is going on… miss the old app so much. (‘Error - try again’ it says in Danish). I enclose tags from Mediamonkey.

Hey all!Can I save settings for different usage in the iOS app? Like a preset for “Music”, “Movies”, Podcasts” etc?How is that done so I don´t have to go into settings each time to adjust the settings for each usage.

Tripped over this (minor) issue whilst fighting a different problem: SETUP:   Mac running Sonos Controller 16.4.2.music (nee iTunes) library lives on the Mac (Users/dan/music/iTunes)iTunes library exported to "iTunes Music Library.xml"Mac iTunes file structure entirely copied to USB drive hanging off router (\\NASMOUNT\iTunes)Sonos library location only knows \\NASMOUNT\iTunes. This has been working for years. I recently noticed that Sonos had a couple of extra imported playlists: Library and Music. They each appear to contain all songs. Reading posts here, it sounds like Sonos no longer needs the XML file, so I tried different variations. 1) updating library after deleting  xml file on the NAS:library and music are created in imported playlists, my imported playlists are there.xml file on Mac was modified. this was surprising, as I wasn't aware Sonos knew about the Mac iTunes location. 2) updating library without xml file either on NAS or Mac iTunes libraryMac iTunes XML file is creat

I am trying to downgrade S2 to S1. I hit “switch to s1” and nothing happens??what now?

When if ever will i be able to play DRM again. Trying to convert my library isn’t easy and it hasn’t worked with Apple music like the articles say. Sometimes it creates a new version of a song that  might play . Sometimes it doesn’t. Problem not solved. I want to know who else to use because I have friends about to invest in Sonos and i told  them not to buy  whatever else is on the market. I’ve probably wasted 10k. There should be an option to use old software of away. I want my money back. I’ve been conned.

Hello I need to update my system to use a new WiFi network. It has just two speakers, a 'One SL' and a 'Play:1'I understand I should first update the network settings for the 'One SL' via the app but, as this process is not supported for the 'Play:1', I need to do 'Factory Reset' for it before adding back to the system. Is this correct? If I do this, do I keep my Sonos playlists, Spotify service connection etc? In other words, are they all kept on the 'One SL' unit after it's reconfigured and later synchronised with the 'Play:1' once the 'Play:1' is added back to the system? Thanks

I have been using the Sonos 1 app for over ten years on my Android phones. I have been quite happy. Recently I selected Pandora (it's been authorized for years) on the Sonos App. A screen appeared instructing me to "reauthorize Pandora." I followed the instructions and was informed the account had been reauthorized. However, when I attempted to post Pandora I received the same message to reauthorize Pandora. Multiple attempts yeielded the same result.Steps. Taken:1.Removed the Pandora service from Sonos and attempted to add it again - same problem.2. Uninstalled and reinstalled Sonos on my phone and then tried to add the Pandora service - same problem.3. Checked my Pandora Premium account - no issues. Everything works fine when I use Pandora as a stand alone app.

The function to shuffle a selected playlist for an alarm is missing from the new app.  As a result, my alarm plays the same songs every day instead of playing different songs from my playlist.  Can this change be included in a future update please?

I've not updated my main main system (3x play 5, Arc Sub and 2 x Play3 surround, Move and a Symfrnisk) to the New App instead I've created a separate smaller system with 2 x Play1 and a Roam. With this setup I've been able to monitor the progress of the new app hopefully to a point where I'm prepared to update everything to it.Sorry to report that it's not there yet (I've read the blog post that implies new exceeds old in responseivness - not true in my case).Main issues with the new app on latest iPhone release 80.12.03 are.1. Local library is never accessible from the home screen, it's there and playable via search or direct selection but the home screen always says 'no longer accessable '2. It's still laggy, particularly when changing tracks, volume control is just about acceptable (but there shouldn't be any at all).3. Every time on opening the app or bringing it back to foreground it briefly (sometimes many seconds) says no system found.4. UI/UX, ok it's a matter of personal taste

When will Spotify and SONOS Fix the alarms so Music playlists or radio plays on alarm chimes? Losing the will we first reported this in 2021. This function is still not working on my Sonos. I used to play perfectly with free Spotify account.I bought Sonos speakers for this reason. I feel like I’m due a big refund. Everything has been discontinued over the years. One ceo apology letter this year mass produced for all email subscribers and it still not working. At this point I need a timeline of fixes which is completely normal in the tech world. All these new speakers are being released with inferior software or apps.I can set the alarm to different songs or radio and nothing works but the chime. 3 years later and no progress on this fault

I can’t get my Sonos to unstick from my radio station to source TV instead.  Help!

How can I add a song to my existing playlist

In folder view in Music Library the whole path to the NAS used to be shown so I could instantly find the Music Pop, Music Classical, Audio books etc etc. folder. Now the path is truncated so all I see is //NASE12345/Multimed then cut off. Thus all 10 folders appear identical. Only by going to each in turn can you find out which one it is.Either revert to showing the full path or allow the user to place a relevant icon in the COMPLETELY USELESS grey square that takes up space in front of each path.

The on going question topic of “Saving Group Level settings” From what have seen has in this Community is it NEVER been addressed by Sonos for over10 years now!! Having the ability to custom saving levels, as a group, is a much needed feature. Sonos please consider adding this to the app!!

I have sonos 1 and I want to listen to BBC sounds and it has stopped working.  Says I must update Sonos app but I can’t because then it won’t work with my Sonos anymore.  What can I do to listen to BBC sounds on my existing speakers?

I've got the Sonos Web App on my Mac.  I have a system at work, a system at home, and one in my summerhouse. I've got connected to my home system, but can't find a way to change back to my other systems. I can logoff and on again, but it is inconvenient.

Hey all, today we're sharing a message from our chief innovation officer, Nick Millington in the announcement here. Going forwards we will update that topic and we therefore close this one for further replies.  We set out to create a more personalized and effortless listening experience with the updated Sonos app. It was rebuilt from the ground up to ensure it could support future innovation in the years to come. For its initial rollout, we focused on how we could answer some of the most common requests from our customers, including increased reliability, performance, and faster access to music. Many of you have shared valuable feedback on both the improvements that have made your experience better, as well as the areas where we fell short. We are listening to all of your comments and working to address them as quickly as possible. Over the coming weeks, we will reintroduce the below features, while fixing bugs and performance issues. Thank you for your engagement and we look forward to

I surrendered and eventually installed the last update. In the old app I could enter a search string and the see different categories like song, playlist, artist and podcast. Where are these categories in the new app? How can I search for podcasts? Thanks for help!

Is there an app that will allow me to get along my playlists from s1 to s2? I saw an answer from @Controlav but can't find the app on my Pixel phone

Every time I login to Sonos it nags me to check for S2 compatibility.  I know full well I have perfectly functioning components that are not compatible with S2.  Why do you have to nag me every day??

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/08/sonos-laying-off-100-people-amid-expensive-app-problems/ Oh and bring back SMBv1 support so we can all access our music as we had done perfectly well for at least the last 10 years...please.

As SONOS is now mainly cloud based, I get the feeling that some issues could be caused by a slightly higher latency and affecting service due to IP communications having a short time out for a response packet. This happened when the service was taken into the cloud from locally but the company forget to allow for increased latency.Do you think peoples experiences are varying due to their internet connection and possibly wifi connection?
