My Sonos app on Windows no longer functions. It just goes round in circles,

  1. It starts with saying that it needs an update.
  2. When pressing update it says it doesn’t need an update as everything is up to date.
  3. I can then press more options, and select “continiue using sonos app” which will tell me that my products haven’t been registered.
  4. I press Registere products and enter in my credentials, and sonos tells me that my system is updated.
  5. Pressing OK just takes me back to the same screen saying I need to register.
  6. Restarting the app just takes me back to start with the app saying i need to update.

I’ve tried resetting the app, and then join existing system, But that also takes me to the starting point saying that I need an update.

Repairing or re-installing the app doesn’t solve the issue either.

Does anybody have an idea as to how to make it work again? The app on the phone works; but is aapparently unaware of a thing called podcasts

I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic from both your Windows and your phone apps, within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. But don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, they get sensitive about GDPR.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
