I have two groups, lounge and kitchen. Since the new app when adjusting the volume in the lounge (for instance using a tv remote) it also changes the volume in the kitchen which is playing music or radio. The rooms are not grouped. Is this a bug. Help!

Try grouping the kitchen and lounge. Play some music. Then ungroup them again and see if that restores things to how they should be.
