This issue is a bit more annoying because a while back both Android and iOS SONOS controllers used the lock screen controls. It was a clever hack. Unfortunately, both GOOGLE and APPLE viewed the hack as a security issue and gave SONOS a very simple choice — remove the hack or the controller App will be banned from the App Store.

I know that all my concerns with the Sonos App are Bezos and Cook’s fault, but I need to say it here, at least till I can save again the money I spent in speakers, to hire a psychologist:

Amazon Music doesn’t work properly in the Sonos App because the *** playlists limit of 100 songs. But it’s not just the fact that the app limits the number of songs, it also duplicates tracks along the queue! So, it makes the playlist almost useless or very annoying.

I cancelled Apple Music because of the glitches playing loseless through Sonos App.

I move from Spotify because Atmos doesn’t exist.

I would try Tidal, but there are a lot of threads complaining about the integration with Sonos.

So, to sum up; I was a happy guy listening music through my Arc and Sub with AirPlay. After trust Sonos’ advertising about how amazing is Atmos playing in a HT setup, I get 2 Era 300 instead of choosing 100 ones, and then my only chance is to use the Sonos App, and then all the problems appear. Including discovering that mi Arc’s mic doesn’t work and there is no solution.

Despite the fact that all the problems are third parties fault, Sonos, please, try something!

To the marketing people: your App transformed a promoter (loyal, enthusiastic and brand advocate) into a (polite and respectful) hater. It needs to be fixed, because I’m not a rare case.

oh my God, my English must be even worst than I thought 🤣. Let’s try again…

I know @jgatie, but as far as I know, Sonos app is the only way to play Atmos content, right? Then, I’m obliged to use Sonos app. If I want to enjoy fully my expensive setup… And then, I get a great sound quality, but renouncing to a lot of things that Sonos fail to implement in their app. All the problems listed above are linked to Sonos app, not the streaming services, nor the bandwidth, nor the WiFi configuration…

Actually, no.  The lock screen controls and volume buttons are limitations in the iOS and Android operating systems (regardless of what the inevitable “Dynamic Island” posts say.)   The limit on Amazon playlists is an Amazon limit, as is the browsing of playlists.  Each individual service is responsible for the look and feel of their implementation in the Sonos app.  Sonos only supplies the API, it is up to the service to implement.

So only the Apple problem could be a glitch on Sonos’ side, and even that is unlikely to be a problem in the app.

I’m not giving up with this issue and I contacted both, Amazon and Sonos support.

Amazon guy says that if my problem is in Sonos app, when I play in my Sonos’ speakers, that must be solved by Sonos staff. He also tell me to reboot, reinstall and reverything.

Sonos person has told me the same about reverything, and after insist, she said it is a known issue, without a solving date. I asked about the API-thing and in which roof she thought this issue is, but she couldn’t reply.

I feel like in Asimov’s Fundarion, very nice starships but nobody know how to fix them or how they work… 🚀

I wouldn’t expect a low level Amazon support person to know anything about developing for the Sonos app/SMAPI, nor should they.  Ditto for the Sonos support, they don't know anything outside of the scripts they are given.  Expecting details on how Sonos is developed from them is an exercise in futility.

If you need proof of who is responsible for the look and feel of their service in the Sonos app, you only have to read here:

I agree, I didn’t expect much of both calls, but I’ve no access to higher level staff nor Bezos’ phone 😬

As far as I understand it, I suppose small companies are interested in develop the connection to Sonos, while with the big ones perhaps is Sonos the most interested to implement it, due it’s the only way to enjoy the features they’re selling. But of course, may be I’m wrong.

Anyway, I’ve done everything I can. If they fix it, great, if not, I’ll keep looking for the way to solve the Sonos app lacks.
