Napster on Sonos not working
4/7/2025
The problem that happens is that the Napster service does not show up in Sonos, even though I pay for it etc. When trying to add it back in through the "add a music service" function in Sonos settings, you can authorize the service ok but then when you go back to Sonos to actually use it, Sonos gives an error "unable to connect".
The solution for me was to go into my Napster account outside of Sonos, go to account settings and edit account settings and there will be a field called "Screen name" (already filled in by Napster with some random name) and then another field called "Real name". The Real name field was blank, so I filled it in with my choice of a random name (I did not use spaces in the name cuz the "Screen name" field didn't either). I then saved changes and then went back to Sonos and went through the process of adding a music service (Napster) and this time it asked for the name of the service (which it had not asked for before) and I put in the Real name that I had just filled in in my Napster account and then it added the service and everything was fine. Weird but this has happened more than once and I couldn't remember (exactly) how I solved it before and online Sonos or other forums didn't help.
