I have built in speakers in my new apartment and it’s sonos amp. I am trying to connect my tv to it and use it as surround sound. Is that possible?

If this SONOS AMP was previously owned, Factory Reset AMP.

AMP is a two channel device. As such it cannot alone provide surround sound, but it can be used along with other SONOS components to build a surround system.

How many built-in speakers are available and how are they located relative to the TV and your viewing position? Do you own any additional SONOS units?

You can connect your TV to an Amp, yes, but it will not play surround, as it can only play two channels with a bonus "phantom” center that it computes from the available sound stream. The Amp needs to be connected to the HDMI-ARC connection of the TV.

Are these built in speakers in wall or in ceiling speakers?
