Treble adjustment not working properly

Treble adjustment not working on S1 app for 'old' play 5 systems.   The 'Bass' slider and the balance slider as well as the loudness knob do have a clear effect but the moving the 'treble' slider has no noticeable affect at all.

I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

Broken just for the Play 5 but works on the One?

Then you might have a dead driver in the Play 5.

Try switching from horizontal to vertical or the reverse and see if that makes a difference in the sound.
