The recent Sonos affair has caused many to threaten to or actually make a switch to other systems (such as Denon HEOS, Bluesound, etc).
The Achilles heel in doing this, is that virtually every alternative is another proprietary system (with absolutely no guarantee that the system and its components will be maintained) where factors other than brand loyalty may play a determining role in what happens to often an expensive outlay.
