Sonos, why would you release an app upgrade with so many problems!? Where are my playlists? They're gone! Where are my alarms?  I can no longer edit or save the queue! Where are my albums? I can't change the home interface! I can delete some of the things you guys added automatically but there's nowhere I can see to add anything. What a mess!

Don't you guys check your work? I've been reading some other letters and there are many more problems.

What is going on??? 🙈

I downloaded the upgrade, now I can’t connect to either my Sonos one or my play bar, I can’t access the app and my Sonos one won’t switch on because I can’t access the app to connect it to the Wi-Fi following the upgrade!

SONOS – GET IT SORTED! 


Have tried all the available third party apps for iOS and the clear winner is SonoPhone.

Will be using that until Sonos get their act together or I move on to a different system. This update has ruined my whole experience and I am so angry - leaving poor (accurate) reviews wherever I can...


Just opened my Sonos 5. Tried setting it up. Nothing… I’ve been using computers since I was 10 in the mid ‘90s, never have had any issues with tech in terms of understanding how to set things up. I was going in circles yesterday for about two hours, deleting the app, reinstalling, logging in, logging out. I got the speaker for my store which is opening in a few days. Everyone said I should get this speaker. It’s added so much stress to the process. I can’t believe a) you can’t just run the speaker over Bluetooth (the Five doesn’t have this feature) and you need an app in the first place, and b) they would release an “update” with so, so, so, so many flaws. This is so bad for a business. 


Yep, agreed it’s rubbish. No widgets on Android now, response is sluggish, changed the icon back to black on IOS, confusing as that was S1. Far from intuitive and the multi room functionality is all over the place. Lots of controls no longer easy to access.

I never comment in communities but this app is absolutely terrible. How did Sonos allow this release. The engineers should be embarrassed. 


App works for me overall…. Still needs some work to be fully functional which will hopefully come in future updates soon.  Using iPad OS or iPhone here also have Sonos Boost network hub.

CANNOT edit or rename favorites or anything…. Plus other limitations as listed in this post, but not as dramatically bad as other versions have been in the past and will be a nice overall refresh when fully operational.  Poking around the app for a few hours playing music it is pretty cool although my whole system is working with this app (amp, plays 5s, playbars, etc).  Good luck and lets hope for some patches soon.  Bummer some of you lost playlists, they are saved to the device i beleive and not the sonos server… JaM on! 


I have the Beam connected to my TV and used to be able to select TV but cannot find it anywhere now

SONOS - please give us back our music!


The whole “ new app” is APPsolutely diabolical !! Sort it out SONOS !! I can’t believe you thought this was a grand idea!! Shame on you!! 😣


Seriously Sonos?! You’ve taken several major steps backwards with this update. You can’t even add songs/albums to the queue. Please fix this app and whoever was responsible for releasing such an embarrassing update. 


It’s a disgusting app with many features removed unilaterally by Sonos and should never been released - go try SonoPhone - Sonos should be ashamed of the developers and QC !

It works perfectly for me and all the functionality is back. No problems for me at least - I’m sticking with it.

“Don’t update to the new version” - it’s not fit for purposeat all.


ISSUE -i don't think the screen appearance  in their tutorialdoes not match what I am seeing on my phone.  Also II cannot delete two of the three items appearing on my home screen dispite the app telling me I can.  Nothing happens when when I hit the buttons.  The only thing I can do is rearrange them.  

JUST VENTING Why would people who love lots of music want  to see a list of Sonos favorites constantly on their home screen?  Also, what is their continuous preoccupation with showing me the album covers?  What purpose does the picture serve?  Maybe I don't like change but ever since they made changes some years back, I've been hesitant to buy more speakers.  Sometimes I wonder where they get  their ideas from like getting rid of alarm or sleep timer.  As a business person I am surprised they pushed out this release with known or at least testable issues.


This morning I discovered that the latest update on my Android phone has ruined my SONOS system.  I use SONOS for 2 things -  BBC Radio and HiFi quality music from my music library.  I do not want voice control, nor any streaming service such as Spotify. 

I now cannot see my music library - SONOS, what are you playing at?  Please reissue the old app so we can choose which we want.

Fortunately one of my devices (Amazon tablet) has not updated, but I'll be stuck if it does.

The local library folders are available in the new App, including the Web App? Ensure its setup as an SMBv2 or higher share over the LAN. Screenshot attached showing it’s available to both.

I see that in mine. But try and search for something in your library… another broken piece of the app


I think it's time to sell my speakers for real, you should be adding to features not removing them.  I have had Sonos speakers since 2017, and spent thousands on them I have a set in the UK and Barbados... 

 

SONOS HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THE COSUMER.

It is not hard to test an app before releasing. Sonos you have completely broken all my system. Lost everything and every time re set then looses everything again !! 👏 the app wants to say change local settings but they are changed and then constantly wants to update which then errors. So now have no Sonos at all !! Fix these issues please immediately and issue an updated app. 


Completely agree with the comments. This is beyond awful. Please make the previous controller available for re download until you fix this. 


Of course the update is dreadful. It is such a shame that Sonos hardware is so great, yet the app(s) are always coded by total morons. I will never buy another Sonos product again - solely because the Sonos app(s) are so utterly useless. I assume there’s a running joke at Sonos, progressively making their apps worse and worse, while laughing at the fact that people are sucked into buying their products because they don’t realise how sh!te the app is.

Was it my imagination that before this downgrade, it was possible to skip forward/backward by about 20-30secs when listening to a BBC podcast? That’s now gone. Also, I’m sure it was also possible to see the date of a BBC episode/podcast - that’s now also gone, so there’s no way of knowing which episode you’re attempting to listen to through the god-awful Sonos app.


It’s not the first time Sonos have screwed up monumentally though, is it. Remember when they bought S2 out and bricked devices before having to back down from what was purely a way to force customers to buy the new devices. It’s a speaker, it’s supposed to play music, that is all most of us want it to do. Just accept you are trying to make up new stuff nobody wants to justify forced upgrades. 
 

BTW am I the only one who thinks the Era300 is the ugliest looking device ever?

Sort it out Sonos, if this carries on I’ll be trading the whole lot in and going elsewhere. 


Shockingly poor QA on release of this version.

 

On Android I totally lost my Sonos Move, I had to factory reset it, which took a LONG time and multiple attempts due to failures.

 

Constantly losing my Sonos system on Android, I have to keep closing and reopening the app and disconnecting/reconnecting WiFi to get it back.
