Running the old S1 app was thinking of moving to the S2 app which now seems to have been replaced with a cloud based app (which seems to have issues hopefully Sonos will sort that soon)

but my main question is if this new app is cloud based what happens if your internet goes down or the Sonos server stops working would the app still be able to connect to your local library?

It does still allow access eventually, it’s just not very pretty and takes a while for stuff to time out.

What’s the main reason for thinking of updating?

No search for local music libraries is probably the biggest issue if there is no internet atm, but they say it will be added. No time frame that I know of though.

Personally I would hold off updating, no question.
