Well the CEO posted this, I believe before July:

July and August:

  • Improving the stability when adding new products
  • Implementing Music Library configuration, browse, search, and play

I still have not seen an update that fixes the Music Library omission and today is September 9th. I have found a work around with an Android music app that I can connect to TV/ARC that is hardwired. However, it is not ideal and SONOS loses the connection when my phone goes into sleep mode. Also, in order to connect the other speakers in the house (all WiFI connections), I have to go to the TV speakers, add the speakers I want to listen to and turn off the volume to the ARC connected speakers.

It sure would be nice to get an update from SONOS staff as to when or when not to expect an update. This has been going on since May. What a way treat your loyal customers. I have a total of 11 SONOS speakers, that includes a Bass connected to the ARC.

Can you confirm where your music library is located and what SMB version is set on the device?

If your library is still missing, maybe it is (for this) not the new app that is the culprit, but the end of SMBv1 and http-support for libraries Sonos also implemented in May 2024?

To be fair to the OP, I expect they are re-trying to add their library using the wizards that are still in the Desktop apps even though these apps have been updated *since* the speaker firmware dropped support for SMBv1 and the HTTP service these wizards still try and create.

It’s not that unreasonable to assume that wizards still present in the latest versions of the apps would work…

I mean who leaves broken old wizards in updated apps? 😳

OK, after reading the replies to my response, I went back to the SONOS website and found a windows app update dated 8/24/8204. Worked great with a few tweaks on my part… They have user’s email addresses to fill their inboxes with lots of advertising, but they don’t bother to update them with fixes to issues with apps. I think they would serve themselves well to communicate better with their paying customers.
