I wonder if my Sonos will ever work again as well as it did before the update. It’s been a year and I grit my teeth every time I use it. Times out, doesn’t connect, drops components, sound glitches.  

Sounds like you may be experiencing local network issues, not something endemic to Sonos itself. Have you tried contacting Sonos Support to discuss it?

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
