switching systems. One system only plays sonos radio, the other only plays spotify

I have 2 older moves that are not compatible with the new system I’m trying to grow with 2x era to start.   If I’m in the living room I will use 2 eras, otherwise I’ll use 2 Moves 1st gen and put them wherever I want. This is ok I’ve accepted that. The problem is that if I play something on Spotify in the living room and choose 2 Eras, it will play in the kitchen on Moves instead. If I switch back to Eras it will only play Sonos radio, not Spotify. I have played with the app forever trying to fix it. What gives?

It sounds like you’ve created two systems rather than adding the newer speakers to your existing system. All the devices you’ve mentioned should work on the S2 app.

Can you see all rooms/speakers in the app, to be able to choose any that you want?

Indeed, as far as I’m aware, both generations of the Move only run S2, as does the Roam. They should have been added as indicated in the previous post.

Apologies, no explanation how to fix…you need to factory reset one set of speakers (whichever you choose, just be aware that a factory reset erases all data), and then open your controller. It will connect to the ‘other’ speakers, you need to use the ‘add a device’ process to build one system…you can then group them as desired.

Thanks everyone.  I deleted the app, reinstalled and reset all the speakers, now everything is perfect!! The only issue that I have is the administrator (?) offering me a free iPad. What a scam. How is that even allowed on this forum?

It isn’t. Either an approved message, or even a Sonos moderator. I’d report that issue to the real forum moderators…and I’d post the name here, too, in case someone else sees it. They should know that Sonos isn’t giving away free iPads.

On the other hand, I wouldn’t mind a free iPad ;)
