Er, everyone with a Beam, Ray or Arc I would imagine. That is kind of the point of the devices.

You don’t. 5.1 surround was made for TV. It would be like asking “how do I remove this radio source from my car radio?”

You can remove the sources list from your dashboard by disabling it. (scroll to the bottom of your Home Screen and hit edit home )
Voila your tv source is gone
This won’t work if you use local library
not the complete sources list, i need the analog input of the amp for a cd-player.
just remove the “tv”

ok, so if i buy a sonos amp for just playing music with 2 speakers it means i want to build a 5.1 too..?!
You could just ignore it? The main question though is why did you buy a Sonos soundbar if you’re not going to use it with a TV? That’s the reason TV is showing as a source. If all you wanted was to listen to music, that money would have gone a long way towards dedicated Sonos music speakers (e.g. 2 x Era 300s for both stereo and Dolby Atmos).

But you didn’t “buy a Sonos Amp”, did you? You bought a soundbar, which by its very definition is made to broadcast TV.

ciao jgatie
no, i have a sonos AMP, no soundbar. Its only use is to play music.
For myself I have no Problem to ignore it. OK, lets say a little. Other systems I have i’m used to customize settings like this in frontend. It looks like that with Sonos you can't adjust anything. Not even fixed IPs, but this is out of topic.
The Problem is with a costumer I have installed this system (about 10 sonos devices).
So they see this Button “TV”, press on it, and nothing worked. So i wanted to remove it.
I normaly configure frontends only with buttons that are with a function, and disable/hide/remove the rest.
Just to keep it clean and simple. Specially if I configure systems for older people. Just don’t want
unusable stuff at a dashboard. Am I so wrong with that?!
Is it that hard to give the client the possibility to hide stuff like this..?!
As workaround i have set up an Openhab Server with Sonos binding. With its frontend i can customize
everything. So they don’t need the unusable Sonos App anymore.
Again this begs the question - Why would anyone buy a soundbar to only play music? Personally, I see this as just as inexplicable as buying a TV to only play music and covering the picture with a sheet.
I get that you don’t want to remove sources and lose the line in link, but if you turn auto play on the line in you could remove sources from the home screen as it’ll switch automatically.

only you talk about a soundbar.. I still have this problem with a sonos AMP..?! If I have to write it any bigger let me know....

true.
but even if i want to remove sources its not possible, i've tried it right now..
anyway I need not only line input but also musicserver as source, so removing this whole category is no solution in my case.
You can‘t remove it at all… whether as a single source nor the whole „your inputs“ category.
As someone described before, the tv source disappear automatically after some time if not being active.
All that is made by design and imo most people are fine with that.

Sorry, I missed that. But then that begs the question, why would you set it up as “a crappy 5.1 surround system” if you are using a Sonos Amp for just music?

hmm, but i've never connected any device to the hdmi input from this amp. so why does it show up then?

no problem
I have no surround set up at all, i just use it as stereo amp like what it was build for ..
and with this standart setup it shows this unusable tv source button. but only line in is connected with a cd-player. hdmi was never connected.
I would ignore it, personally. I’m not bothered by features showing up even if I’m not using them.

Maybe because the amp is a ht device. I never tried if the input is shown constantly when not being connected at all. Did you set up the Amp anytime in the past as a ht setup with tv connection just for a short test? If so, could be you have to reset it and hopefully the tv input will disappear.

Oh I assumed since there’s an edit HOME button they would allow you to hide this but of course they do not. Sorry Usethis.
