Hi

When I first got my play 1 with voice control, I set it to Google Assistant. I became an issue as other devises went off when I said, hey google. So I changed it to Alexa. A few years ago alexa disappeared, and it went back to google. My local radio station n NSW Australia is 102.9 Triple M. I said, play 102.9. The usual happened but the music was different, so was the first ad. It was about buying items illegal here. I opened up the app and found I was listening to 102.9 The Whale from Connecticut. It was just by luck and Its a great station. Their Friday and Saturday nights are my mornings. So rock all day. Anyway after a system update, I lost being able to stream it through my system. It is in my list of stations on my Tunein. I recently had a issue with my system that had to be sorted over the phone with a level 2 expert. All sorted, but he to could not get the station to play. The station is also called WDRC-FM. Any thoughts on why it cant be played? Cheers

Just couple of remarks first, for later readers of this thread. There’s no “Play 1 with voice control”. You probably own a Sonos One. Alexa should not have disappeared- as I understand it, it is still available on Sonos in Australia.

To your question. Are you using S1 or S2 (grey or black app)? Is Australia set as your country of residence on your Sonos profile on the Sonos website? If you are using S2, are you using TuneIn New (requiring a free account)?

Ive never been asked location. Yes its a Sonos 1. I am running my system on the S1 controller. I have had people buy new TV’s and their older speakers will not work, I win as I now own them. As to Tunein radio, Ive been using it since I purchased my Sonos. Today my local radio stream still stopped and started after about 15mins playing. The stops starts are about 6 seconds.

Pretty sure you have a Sonos One.

A note to other posters, you are just making things difficult for everyone by failing to use the proper names for Sonos devices. I hate the names as they are confusing to humans and search tools alike, but they are what we are stuck with.

OK, so a Sonos One on S1. And you have two problems now? Drop outs and not being able to play a specific radio station?

Take a look at https://www.sonos.com/en/myaccount/user/profile for your profile.

I do not use S1, so someone else may be able to help you as to how TuneIn is supposed to work on S1.

Is there a specific reason you are not using S2? The One is S2 capable after all.

99% of dropouts have to do with wifi interference , as well. I’d certainly recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of reproducing the issue  and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here. They’re probably much more familiar with S1 issues than I am.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

As mentioned I have the original setup, 3 x play 1’s, Sub, Playbar, 2 x play 5 and hte last added was a Play 1 with assistant. Up until Wednesday when I was contacted by level 2 assistance fell L Jigger, who was great going through everything, btw no diagnostics could be sent, my system was also run through a Sonos Bridge. No for those asking why Im running S1 controller, I was told that the S2 controller wouldnt work with me having a bridge, it would be another grand to get what was required for S2 to work. Re, why my friends P5 speakers are now mine as they would not work when he got a new tv. So the bridge was kept in play as its a designated wifi signal for the system they said. It is now not connected but I do have my music back playing from spotify, yes glitches when streaming radio and I can have my favorite overseas radio station play from Tunein on my mobile through my hearing aids. I get to hear it but the household doesnt, which is a bummer. I wasnt told by the Sonos level 2 help assistant to change controllers to S2.

There are so many issues with the Bridge it is well worth removing one as the first step in dealing with issues.

Are your Play 5 speakers gen 1, raised base, or Gen 2 flat base?

Did you wire a Sonos device when you removed the Bridge or did you move to Wi-Fi?

Side note, did you register the Play 5s or other older Sonos in the 30% discount on upgrades program?
