I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues using Spotify Connect. You mention that you have trouble connecting to your speakers through the Spotify app but also say streaming from Spotify Connect works, I assume you mean Spotify Connect works for other devices?
Since your apps are both up to date, I’d suggest rebooting your router, speakers, and device running the Sonos app by powering them off for one to two minutes to see if that helps.
If those steps don’t help, then I’d recommend submitting a diagnostics, then contacting our support team for further troubleshooting. They have the necessary tools available to look into your system and see what’s going wrong.

Sorry for being unclear - what i meant is that it works fine to stream music from spotify connect. but podcasts does not work when i try to stream them through Spotify connect.
(in both cases from my android phone - i also tired from my mac - same result)
I have tried rebooting my sonos system several times.
Update: now i tired again and now it does not work for music either.
It did work for music a while ago - but i stopped using my sonos system much so i do not know exactly when music also stopped working

I see, thanks for letting me know. I gave it a test on my system and had no issues using Spotify Connect with Podcasts. However, your update shows that music isn’t working either, so it’s likely a connection issue we’re seeing.
Do you have any additional networking equipment, such as access points or wireless extenders, that could cause your speakers and controllers to be on different network or different part of the network? A mesh network configured incorrectly may prevent devices on different parts from communicating.
I have not changed my network setup since before it stopped working. I do have an ASUS router that has an option that is incompatible with Sonos. That option is turned off as described in the sonos support forum.
The devices running spotify (tested with mac computer and pixel android phone) are both connected to the same wifi network as configured in the Sonos App.
I test restarting the Sonos system (by simply powering it off for a minute)
but still it does not work
