Has anyone heard from SONOS when they will be fixing the issue that is preventing us adding our locally stored music libraries (local / NAS drive) to the app.

It is extreemly annoying not to be able to play my music without going through a PLEX account.

Is that NAS drive using SMB v1, or higher? Which version of the Sonos controller are you using? Have you re-added your library, following the new instructions in the FAQ? Have you called Sonos Support directly to discuss it?

Do I have to subscribe to Apple Music to play my library? I used to.  Then the app”update”, then no.

Downloaded Apple Music just to see...and I can again play my library on Sonos?  Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks

You shouldn’t, unless your Apple Music is stored on Apple’s servers, and not on a local NAS. I play my library daily, from an NAS, and have never been an Apple Music subscriber, although I do have a ‘match’ setup with Apple…just not a Music subscription.

However, due to the changes that may have been made with the new S2 app (v80 and above), there are some folks who have needed to follow the instructions in the controller app, and needed to reset up their library connection. I think that may have been lost in all the other issues.

Thanks for that info.  After the upgrade I no longer could pull up my library (on iTunes). After not getting anywhere with the app, I did the free 3 months with Apple Music.  And there were once agin my playlist able to played.  I just wonder if I stop the subscription the SONOS will be back to unless.

I’d think it much more likely that your setup is borked in some way. I would certainly try a call Sonos Support directly to discuss it. Sonos doesn’t make any money off off forcing you to subscribe to Apple, it doesn’t seem likely they would do that.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

It’s set up as: Sonos OS: S2 SMB v1

It’s set up as: Sonos OS: S2 SMB v1

That’s the problem then, Sonos drooped support for SMB1 with the new updates. Check with the NAS manufacturer to see if it can support SMB2/3 or considering downgrading to OS S1 which still supports SMB1 and HTTP.
