Spotify will not group my Sonos speakers properly again. This is after a mandatory Sonos update to ver 80.17.14. Why why why? The Spotify Group Rooms does not work
Hello
I am sorry to hear you are having issues grouping your Sonos speakers via the Spotify App.
Can you please provide a bit more information of what you are experiencing as I am unable to reproduce it.
While using the Spotify App, if I tap on Spotify Direct I can see all my Sonos Speakers and then I can tap on the 3 dots after every product and select Group Rooms, which opens the Sonos App and allows me to group the products i want for multi-room playback.
What happens if you create the group you want directly from the Sonos App? Have a look at our Support Article Group and ungroup rooms.
There are some troubleshooting steps you can take, have a look below:
- Force-close the Spotify App and Sonos App and re-launch and try again.
- Make sure that both Spotify App and Sonos App are at the latest available version.
- Refresh the network connection by rebooting all networking devices involved. Start with your Router → Sonos → Controller (smartphone/tablet).
If you are still unable to complete the grouping feature, I’d recommend you to reach out to our Support Team for some live troubleshooting.
They have tools at their disposal to provide you with information and advice specific to your system and what it reports.
I hope this helps.
Hello,
The issue is when I use Spotify App | click on the Speaker icon (just to left of > button) then the 1st speaker I select plays. Then, I click > (above Start a Jam) | which brings up Log out of this Device AND Group Rooms.
The Group Rooms button triggers sonos App (which flashes back and forth for a second) | then should load Your System.
Sometimes Your System is blank, but if I go back into it, the system (3 AMP devices) show up. Then when I try to group speakers and click APPLY, sound does not come out of the added speakers.
