For years I have streamed SirusXM music (or my Apple/iTunes Music Library) to all of my Sonos speakers, mostly Play5 and Roam, but now they can only be played from my iPhone 15 to the speakers,  My iPad sees the speakers but the sound does not come out of the speakers and it eventually gives up and stops trying. This problem appeared in the last 1-4 weeks.

All Sonos speakers have the current firmware.
All Apple devices are using the current iOS or iPadOS.

No recent network hardware changes.
All speakers are accessed via wifi & AirPlay. No ethernet involved.

I found a place in the SONOS app where I have to authorize every single service and log in to permit them to play from my iPad to the speakers. This is a really awful user experience.

It seems to operate to just collect my data instead of increase functionality.

I was on the verge of replacing my entire system with something non-SONOS. These are the types of changes that drive customers away.

Since the Sonos shouldn’t be different on the iPad versus your iPhone, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic from your iPad within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. But don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, they get sensitive about GDPR.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
