I have persevered with sonos, through alarms not working, to rubbish App updates! the only thing i actually had working was my SoundCloud Playlists…. i have friends that are DJs and they upload new play lists which seamlessly updated within the sonos app, and i was able to listen to them all without issue, that was until a hour ago! all my playlist that took years to create….GONE off the app? they are still on the sound cloud app (thank fully) but these lists have decided to go on a nice vacation to WTF!!! why is something SO basic.. the CORE of sonos So irritatingly unable to Play music and stay that way!!, you need a IT degree and half a day to speak to Sonos, and on each occasion, they never say,,, yes its our C*ap updates… or Yes we did something and its broken,, its ALWAYS your system, your internet, Your issue… if I could get rid of this system I would….2 fundamentals that dont work… listening to music and setting a alarm… in this day and age SURELY a company that sells SPEAKERS can understand these are Crucial…. but Nope…. tinkering with stuff and leaving customer like me IRRATE!!! GRRR…. honestly - DONT BUY ANY SONOS PRODUCTS - THEY ARE UTTER C*AP

Now that you’ve vented and posted your rant with no indication of your Sonos setup… try this…in the order given..,

  1. Unplug all Sonos
  2. Check your router for updates or at very least reboot it and let it come back
  3. Sign out of SoundCloud on your device if that’s an option
  4. Delete the Sonos app from your device 
  5. Check your device for updates or at very least reboot it and connect to your router
  6. Plug in Sonos 1x 1 starting with the Boost
  7. Wait 5 minutes after the last Sonos is plugged in
  8. Download and install the Sonos app
  9. Open App and Select join Existing System 
  10. Once completed sign in with your credentials 
  11. Sign into SoundColud assuming you were able to sign out
  12. Look for your Playlists 
  13. Test Sonos

Now ive had time to cool off, I really appreciate your reply, but those 13 steps just add to my concern, i am simple layman, and sonos has us jumping about like rabbits just to play music! the very fundamental part of sonos that doesn't actually work. I spent nearly 2 hours of my time on the phone to support, which isn't unusual…and where did it get me? no where they blamed sound cloud... I literally loose the will to live every time i speak to them. However I realize non of this is your concern as your simply trying to help, which i really appreciate. I own 2 play bars, all with play 1s in each room (4 speakers in total) a third room with a Acr, plus 2 x play 3s as surround, plus a Sub, a 2nd gen play 5, and other play 1s scattered about the house. all in all a good £10,000 worth of Kit so you can appreciate my frustration after all the drama sonos has had and then when I went to put on sound cloud (the only working item I have had since the new upgrade) and now i cant even use that!

I have completed steps you provided above, and its made no difference the screens are now shown as this, the thumbnails have disappeared off the icons, and the play lists for all artists are no longer displaying, they are however still in the sound cloud App itself, for some reason the link between sonos and sound cloud play lists no longer show. I had a set play list for my morning routine, i have had this literally for years and now everything has gone - thanks again for your kind input, I really appreciate it (o:

 


@PFJ81 .. do yourself a favor.. if you have IOS devices.. get the SonoPhone or SonoPad app.. no issues . SoundCloud is all there with your likes and playlist.

thank you everyone! well F*** ME! ive downloaded this app and Bingo! it all works…. if this can be done for £3.99 why on earth are sonos turning these updates into such a S*** Show? clearly it can be done… and it can be done for as little as £3.99?? Sonos App officially PARKED….. hello new SonoPhone….. THANK YOU ALL I’ve been going out of my mind with this rubbish sonos app and now I have an alternative…. Job Done 😍
