Sound drops after song changes - Apple Music

Hi all, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this:

 

I connect my iPhone 16 Pro Max to my Sonos system. Apple Music plays but when changing songs, the audio drops. Restarting the song then kicks the audio in. 
 

my daughter does not appear to be having this problem with Spotify. 
 

any insight/advice is appreciated.

Do you AirPlay to the system, or play from the Sonos app?
