Sonos update versus iOS version

Hi, so I have an ARC which I installed with the Sonos app, works great. Now I am trying to install a Beam Gen 2 on another TV in a different location. The app shows a screen stating I must update it, but my iOs version of 15.8 ( the highest my phone 7 will accept) won’t do with the minimum Sonos requirement of 16. I end up bouncing back and forth between the screens without progress. A simple install shouldn’t be this hard but I’m stuck!

I suppose the firmware version on the Beam already is 80.x one. So you definitely will have to use the new black S2 app on a compatible device to get the Beam updated. 
On iPhone 7 you just will be offered the brown S2 app to install, what in your case won’t be helpful.

 When did you install the Arc?  Was it before the new 80.x app was released last May?  Does the 16.1 orange app, ant this time, even allow you to use the Add Product function?
