Had this problem quite a few times. When I'm doing an artist search nothing comes up, Sonos says try a different search. Well issue was in the search bar, click on the drop down left of search field, it probably says (mine shows: Amazon music- My music ) which if I change it to Amazon Music fixes the issue.

I am glad you are able to work around the issue for a temporary fix. 

Just to confirm, are you using the Desktop Sonos App? If yes, do you see the same behavior on the Sonos App via your phone?

If you have no issues searching using the Sonos App on your phone, I would suggest a quick uninstall → reinstall of the Desktop Sonos App.
