sonos radio or spotify

This post makes very little sense.  The name is Sonos.  What model speaker do you have?

What device are you using to control your Sonos system,, iPhone Android?

Essentially, you don’t ‘disconnect’. You either pause the stream you’re listening to ( a ‘stop’ command, which disconnects the stream, but stays ready for a ‘start again’ command) or you switch from one source (stream) to another. Both effectively stop the connection to the first server. 

Sonos uses Pause and not Stop as it keeps track of the last played source so it can resume playing without you having to go through reselecting a source.

You can imitate a Stop operation (no reason to) by selecting a Playlist and then clearing the queue.

Sonos detects being in Pause mode and after a couple minutes drops to a low power mode, keeping just enough internal stuff awake to respond to commands.

Remember you don’t pause radio. Like normal radio Sonos Radio (or TuneIn for that matter) cannot be paused. You can pause Spotify.
