I only bought the Era 100 yesterday and installed the app for the first time.
However, I reseted the app as in the instructions you linked, reconnected everything but EQ was missing again.
Today, about 12 hours after I set everything up again for the second time, the EQ was suddenly there.
For someone using Sonos for the first time, this is very confusing and a bit annoying. Nowhere does it say that it can take a few hours for all features to appear - or is it just a bug... who knows..

I had the same problem. EQ did not appear. I cleared the cache of the Sonos app and forced stop and it was back again. No need to reset or reinstall 

I had the same problem. It seems that you'll have to login to a sonos account for it to appear...
