We have been very patient with Sonos to fix the app that controls the Sonos system.
The app frequently disconnects and cannot find the speakers. When it is connected trying to change the volume is either very very slow or will not work. Same goes for trying to change the channel.
Will Sonos ever do a proper job and have a working full functional app for their system, or should we give up with Sonos.?
I’m sorry, but I have to contradict you. In my system, the app is fine - no disconnects, no missing speakers, fast response to volume changes, group playing without dropouts.
I accept that some are still experiencing issues, but by no means is it everyone. I, for one, am not giving up on Sonos.
Wait for the issue, submit a diagnostic and call Sonos support to have your system looked at.
Many of the things in the new App cause issues not seen with the old one and Support is the best place to start.
I'm not going to give up on Sonos, too much invested but I understand your feelings. Fixes have been slow in coming and there is little useful communication on the actual progress to a fully functional system.

It’s a shame that you, like me, still have all of these issues because of Sonos’ negligence. A year ago I thought they would fix it for all of us but these days they seem to be happy that the app is working for some users. At the moment it is unclear to me whether the reduction in users complaining about problems is a result of fixes or because users have abandoned Sonos and/or this community.
This is worth reading. https://9to5mac.com/2025/05/12/sonos-ceo-says-the-company-didnt-understand-the-real-world/
Apparently they were surprised that our home networks are not the same as the one in their lab. You can’t make this stuff up.
