I'm joining the club of people whose Sonos app doesn't play podcasts on Youtube Music. This issue is also valid on Android12 (S10e), Android15 (P9P), Apple IOS18.3 (iPhone14) and Windows10.
I’m facing two problems:
1) the new episodes list is empty, but only on mobile apps (Android +IOS),
2) when I start a podcast episode in the podcast's library, it reads through the entire library and then says it can't play any of them randomly. This is also true for the Windows 10 version.
If I uninstall and reconnect to the YT Music service, it's fine for about 1-2 days, then wrong again.
Any solutions for that?
Thank you.
Ferenc

Hi @Ugyes
Welcome to the Sonos Community!
Sorry to hear of this issue you are having with Podcasts from YouTube Music on your Sonos system.
I have a YouTube Music account, but don’t listen to podcasts. I just added one to my Library, and the Podcast section then showed in Sonos, along with the new episodes list.
My new episode list is empty, just as you report. This is on Android.
I was able to play episodes of the programme without issue, however, and it has been quite a while since I removed YouTube Music from my Sonos system and added it again. This may change in a couple of days, of course - all I can say at the moment is that I will report that the new episode list is empty. If I can no longer play the episodes after a couple of days, I shall report that too.
If removing the service from your system and adding it again does help, that is all I can suggest you do in the meantime. Force-closing the app and opening it again might help, and it’ll be easier than removing the service if it does, but as you report having this issue on multiple controllers, I am in doubt.
I hope this helps.
Hi Corry,
Thank you for the answer. As I mentioned, I already tried to remove/add this service again, but it was only a short-term solution.
Here is an example from the WIN10 app for this issue. I’ve started to play the first podcast episode on the right-hand side, but you can see another one on the Now playing screen and a third one in the error message. The app just spins the episodes.
Error playing YTM podcastsThe error message
Another observation: there are a few podcasts where everything is ok: e.g. Kompország, However, other ones are wrong: 444 or Partizán. (There are Hungarian podcasts.) Maybe you should try them to catch the reason for the issue.
Thank you.
Ferenc
Hi @Ugyes
Thank you for the examples! My colleague and I did come across one podcast that neither of use could play. I’ll inform him of these examples so he can continue his investigation.
Hi Corry,
Any update about it? Have you find the solution?
Thank you.
F.
Hi @Ugyes
There is an update - we have identified that there is indeed and issue and we will investigate.
In the meantime, please try playing using the 3-dot menu - it seems even without anything listed, if you tap on the three dots and choose Play Now, the expected tracks will be added to the queue.
I hope this helps.
Hi Corry,
Thank you for the update.
Can you please show me where I can choose the 3-dot menu? I’m asking because I could find this type of menu only in the mobile app, but only one option is “Add to Sonos Favorites”.
F.
Hi @Ugyes
My apologies - I forwarded that bit of info without looking into it myself. I am not entirely sure what my colleague meant by that, as I do not see any such option, much like you. I will try to get some clarification later - he is in a meeting, presently.
Hi @Ugyes
He got back to me already.
So, if you are on Android, you will see the 3-dot menu for the New Episodes sub-container list which will add all that you should see, but do not, to the queue. The Play Now option (and others) will not show up for other sub-containers, such as those for particular shows.
If you are on iOS, however, it seems that all the 3-dot menus will show or do is to Add to Favourites - the Web App and Desktop apps should work as intended, so please use them instead (if the Android app will not suffice)
I hope this helps.
I’ve found it. Only the first, the newest podcast episode will be played. (I’m on Android.)
Thank you.
Hi @Ugyes
I was able to add multiple tracks, so I am wondering what it is exactly that makes an episode a New Episode. Perhaps it is simply counting since the last time you looked at that list, in which case it is probably counting starting from a time when you could not see anything there.
Perhaps you will get more added to the queue when you try again tomorrow (or in a few days)? I hope so.
