Still running the old firmware and the old sonos app, for my port and play3. Luckily I have android, so I could reinstall the old app back :-)

 

Still a very happy sonos custumer.

But will have to move away eventually, because it's obvious the new app will stay crap.

When I can't run the app on my phone anymore, I have no choice.

Home Assistant works too, but it's not great either, for what I want. 

 If the orange app goes away you could run both devices using the S1 Sonos app.


That’s true. I also considered it briefly. But I’ll not do that.

Downgrading is less attractive. Less updates, no new things. Have to downgrade my hires music. And probably also other disadvantages.

My idea was keep using the old App (S2, 16.3), until the problems were fixed.

But that’s not going to happen, so I’ll move to bluesound.

If sonos would take their customers seriously, they would reintroduce the previous App. So people have a choice. And when the new App is really ready, they can completely switch.
