The alarms were fixed after the app upgrade debacle in 2024, until the latest upstage this week when they've been removed again! (May 2025).

The alarm option is still shown in the app but all previously saved alarms have disappeared and you can't save any new alarms you try to create.

Even worse, the existing alarms are still in the system somewhere as they still play but there's no way to see, edit, or stop them!!

Sonos, please re-fix the alarms! Phantom alarms that still play but we can't edit are a disaster!

Thanks @Muse!

I should have mentioned that we recommend using the Desktop controllers (Sonos apps for MacOS or Windows, available for download here) where possible to set any alarms in the meantime.

I *think* the alarms are still present in the app.

I briefly saw them flash by when I clicked on ‘Create new alarm’ and I immediately went back: they were listed. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I checked later and they were still there.
Sadly they later disappeared again, and I cannot reproduce this.

In any case: the app cannot load them, for some reason, and does not properly activate the ‘Save’ button when I try to create an alarm.

Hi @Muse

All I can really say is that we are aware that things are not as they should be and are investigating.

I have noticed one thing, it seems to disappear after you are forced to login again into the app, they seem to disappear after that, it takes awhile for them to show back up. I don’t know where the saved alarms are stored, but they showed back up sometime later. Also, if you have the Sonos App on a PC, it’s not affected by the disappearing alarm bug. They show up and work.

I was forced to login again into the app and they were gone, so I used my PC to disable one, went to bed and they were back on my phone in the AM. This is the second time i noticed this, last time it was only maybe 10+ minutes of waiting, they reappeared on my phone.

So where are the saved alarms stored?  As they do reappear after some time.

On the system (Sonos devices), and not in the controller app. If they’re not always showing up, there’s a miscommunication between your system and the controller.

What I don’t have any idea, before you ask, is if this is an issue in the controller code, or the communication between your devices and your controller. But the fact that they show up sometimes, or on a different controller device means they still exist on your Sonos devices.

I do notice it’s after you are forced to sign in again, seems the authorization time after you are logged in. The alarms do reappear, it’s just not instantaneous. They seem to stay active afterwards.

Thanks for the clarification on the storage.

Hi @Muse

I see there is an ios update today 80.21.6.  Does this fix the alarm issue that started with the last update?  I’m hesitant to do any updates now for fear of making things worse.

Hi @DaDD

Not as far as I am aware, no.

Update of app that day again disappeared alarms in 3 bedrooms.  Very annoying after Sonos got so much flak the last time they updated.  We’ll see if it results in even more phantom alarms.   Fix this Sonos.  We have paid too much money for your products for the app to keep getting broken to add features very few people use

Hi @charlwillis

As far as I am aware, no changes have yet been made.

I am glad to hear that you have not seen any more problems though.

Any progress on this? I’m still having issues. This morning I had two alarms set. After the first one had gone off I decided to turn the second one off. It registered as off in the app but still went off as first programmed. Then when checking the app it shows no alarms saved at all - which is wrong…

The images shows the Alarm page in the app with 6 mins apart without me changing anything.

Have also sent a diagnostic should anyone want to investigate.

Not that I’m an expert, but your screenshots make sense to me. All of the ‘alarms’ are off, so no alarms are ‘set’. If you turn one on, does the circled text that say ‘no alarms set’ change?

I can’t address your other issues, unfortunately.

No, the alarms are meant to always be listed there whether they are off or on. It is the same page in the app, showing different information on different timestamps.

Hi @MmTt

I don’t get progress reports - sorry.

Seems to be working better, had to sign-in again. And it loaded the alarms instantly. They did show up before, just not very quickly.

Will add to the thread since we have been experiencing the same issue for past 4 days - preexisting alarms have disappeared from the iPhone/iPad and Android phone apps but are still triggered automatically every morning and need to be manually stopped.  I was able to view and disable the alarms from my iOS laptop.  There have been no unusual events or changes to our system that might have caused a disruption, the issue just started happening randomly.

Will log another support ticket with Sonos …

Hi All,

Any news on when this Alarm issueill be resolved?

Thanks

Serge

Sonos doesn’t give dates on when ‘bugs’ or most ‘features’ will be released. But it does seem like this alarm issue might be a local issue, and not a generic ‘bug’, so I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, they get sensitive about GDPR.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

Sonos updates their Trello board fairly often, might want to watch it

Just…FYI

Sonos 80.23.9

iOS 18.5

My alarm was setup well before the recent update. In fact there have been multiple Sonos updates post my alarm setup including incremental iOS.

I turned my alarm off for two weeks and turned it on 7/1/25. It still works as originally programmed.

My sympathies to Sonos Engineers to resolve an issue that is non-existent for me. I hope they figure it out for OP’s experiencing alarm issue setup and/or retention.

Same here — very frustrated.

My guess is that the Android app doesn't play well with Google mesh networks, even though that setup is pretty common.

A decent workaround is to use the old-school Sonos desktop app — alarms do show up there.

Sonos told me a few months ago that it’s an IOS issue that they know about with no idea on a fix!

how can this be? I can’t use my system as intended so now looking at buying another smart speaker for my bedroom so at least I can get my work/life routine back together.

Regretting my crappy Sonos system now 🫤

Hmmm….🤔

My Alarms on iOS (80.24.36) and Android (80.24.32) latest update are present in the App and working.

Hi 👋

Just checked my own build version via my iPhone : 80-24-36 so the same.

I still can’t save a new alarm, I tried deleting the app & reloading it but there’s no change.

It’s genuinely frustrating as it’s a feature I used to use before it stopped working quite a few months ago.

i tried using my windows laptop earlier, but the online App doesn’t even show the alarm feature in the settings menu, the settings menu is very much abbreviated compared to the IOS App.

This may help in the order suggested….

Reboot your router and let it come back

Re-connect your iPhone

Check that Sonos devices appears in the app

Delete the app

On your iPhone go to Settings  > General  > Transfer or Reset Phone > Reset > Reset Network Settings

You’ll have to re-enter WiFi Credentials

Reinstall the App

Select Join Existing System

Accept all prompts

Sign in with your credentials

Try setting up alarms

And my alarms are missing again tonight. The extraordinary incompetence and disregard that Sonos staff repeatedly have for the customers that rely on basic core functionality is unbelievable.

Time to move on.
