The alarms were fixed after the app upgrade debacle in 2024, until the latest upstage this week when they've been removed again! (May 2025).

The alarm option is still shown in the app but all previously saved alarms have disappeared and you can't save any new alarms you try to create.

Even worse, the existing alarms are still in the system somewhere as they still play but there's no way to see, edit, or stop them!!

Sonos, please re-fix the alarms! Phantom alarms that still play but we can't edit are a disaster!

What did Sonos Support say, when you called in? This seems like it’s more likely a local network issue than an issue with the code of the Sonos controller, given the lack of other complaints.

My alarms also randomly disappeared today. I am also unable to save new alarms. No amount of frustrating reboots resolved this.

Sonos is such an unreliable incompetent mess - and this has now been going on for a year! This is truly a pathetic organisation that is destined to fail due to its extraordinary incompetence and poor management.

Thanks for your reply @Airgetlam. Unfortunately Sonos don't know why it's happening. They've opened a case for me and I've been asked to call tech support again to go through it (again) but they've not been able to explain what's going on.

Interestingly I was able to use my IPad Sonos app to create and save a new alarm but it didn't go off so it seems a but useless. My invisible alarms that no longer appear still continue to do so though!

@ColinvZ Sorry to hear you're experiencing the same (but I'm also glad I'm not alone!)

I have the same problem, yesterday they went off as usual (although they were missing from the app), but today they did not, pretty worrying in exam season. I can’t face calling support has anyone had any luck?

My alarms started working again today. I suspect they fixed something on Sonos’ server side. The unreliability is a big concern.

And mine reappeared at about midnight last night too! I can finally turn the early morning one off! Fingers crossed it stays that way!

I found an app update, & mine are working again :-)

Same old typical BS from sonos….all my alarms have disappeared…. it only works off a PC… the iphones (and i have 4 connected to sonos) don't show the alarm...this is a bloody speaker!!! i mean… if it were a bank it would have been closed due to incompetence…. all I need is a alarm and music… and this seems to have completely missed what sonos actually is…. its now so complicated to wake you up and listen to music its been made utter useless….. you need a IT degree to play anything… and the patience of a saint to log ticket after ticket for what??? these cowboys need closing down… i wished i have never spent the money i have on sonos…after nearly £10,000 spent on all varities of speakers i cant even get 1 of them to wake me up for work!!! utter trash….WE NEED TO MAKE THIS TREND #DONTBUYSONOS

It was short lived. My alarms are gone again and I'm back to square one. 😔

All my alarms are gone. So last night I set a new alarm to 6am this morning - which didn’t run. Instead, the last alarm i had set before they vanished ran off this morning - at 5am! You can imagine that i was not amused. Now when i enter the app all alarms are again vanished. I cannot even see and delete the 5am alarm.

I’m in the same boat following the latest update - they do appear to be visible if you use a PC controller and it’s allowed me to save a new alarm so fingers crossed!

It does look like the save button (on Android) when setting a new alarm doesn’t work so if you try and enter a new alarm then hit save / close you get a “your changes have not been saved” message.

If you try and scroll on the duration and set the hours to 0 then it immediately bombs unless you’ve changed the minutes from 0 first.

“Thank you for reporting this to us, Darren. We are investigating the issue and do not currently have an ETA on when this will be fixed. For now, we suggest using the Desktop Controller to manage alarms.”

I’ve had the exact same problem as the poster below (except that my old alarm didn’t go off since it was set to off) so I doubt it’s a local network issue.
I reported it to Sonos support and I think @Corry P has also escalated the problem.

I also have an open case with them from when I first started this thread.

(if anyone uses Home Assistant, you can still see and toggle the alarms there but can't add, edit, delete)

Any new alarms I create using the desktop app save but don't run.

Hi @charlwillis et al

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your Alarms in the Sonos app.

We are aware of the situation with Alarms not working, going missing from the app, and/or not being able to be Snoozed in the app, and we are investigating. We have no estimate for when fix might be put in place, but we will update this thread when we hear of it.

I hope this helps.

Thank you @Corry P .

Please remember that each day that passes is a day we're subjected to alarms we can't edit or turn off, sometimes at unsocial times. So Sonos' full attention on this is vital.

We look forward to the resolution update asap.

Thank you.

I am in a similar situation.

It started about a week and a half ago (so, early May 2025), and before that, the alarms became unreliable as they only played a few tracks. Then, when I checked, all alarms were gone.

I can initiate creating a new one but I cannot save it.

All alarms are still visible in the desktop app (which is a great comfort since last year’s disastrous situation), and I can activate, deactivate, and edit the existing ones.

Interestingly: the alarm I created with the desktop app does NOT stop playing after a few tracks.
It also proves something is clearly wrong with the mobile app.

Thanks @Muse!

I should have mentioned that we recommend using the Desktop controllers (Sonos apps for MacOS or Windows, available for download here) where possible to set any alarms in the meantime.

Yes I think the desktop app still works for alarms, as it did with that first, disastrous, new app launch. I have just reverted to an old fashioned bedside alarm clock. Just in case anyone else is wondering  even if you add a new alarm  in the, currently malfunctioning & empty, phone-app (for a different time to any already set) it does not work. Strange it’s so difficult to fix, but good to know they are on it.

The alarms are now working for me in the app. It's been a few days and they've not disappeared again so I'm cautiously optimsitc that the issue is fixed for me.

Sonos @Corry P - can you confirm the progress on this please?

Hi @charlwillis

As far as I am aware, no changes have yet been made.

I am glad to hear that you have not seen any more problems though.

I still have no alarms visible in the app, although they are going off as preprogrammed. Hopefully they will be back soon. 🤞🤞

How many alarms do you have or have tried to setup? The OP in the post below discovered they had programmed (or tired to program) too many. The magical number supposedly being 32. Which is ironic because 32 is the max number of Sonos units one can have in a single system.

That is interesting, I did not know that. Don’t think I have 32 (or above) can’t really tell  because I can’t see any of them at the moment! I know I could probably find out if I looked on my computer, But I might just wait until they pop up in the app again. I think I probably have around 18.

I only had 2 alarms...
