I have the latest version of the Sonos 1 Controller app running on my iMac Monterey version 12.7.6 with two Play 5 gen 1 speakers. The app cannot find the speakers although when going through the connection procedure it says “The Sonos app is now connected to your speakers”

The app cannot find the speakers

it says “The Sonos app is now connected to your speakers”

So which is it? Need a screenshot or something to clarify what exactly is going on here.

The most common reason for the Mac app to not find the speakers is the “local network” privilege for the app, which must be enabled. Even if Settings shows it as enabled, toggle it off and on again to ensure it really is enabled.

@Philor

Sounds like the desktop controller / Mac and the speakere can‘t find each other on your network. First of all I recommend restarting your router and all other network devices and try again.
Please use fixed wifi channels and also fixed ip addresses for your devices can help.
If this doesn’t work please call Sonos support team. They can use remote tools to take a look at your system, network and Mac.

Sometimes, powering down speakers and router can help. Make sure the wifi is running before powering up the speakers.
