Why won’t Sonos allow me to run Sonos 1? I deleted Sonos 2, and reinstalled Sonos 1. I try to open the Sonos 1 app and it is forcing me to download Sonos 2 which doesn’t work well with my Sonos devices.

Sounds like your devices are running S2 currently. If you want them to run S1 you will have to use the S2 app to downgrade them all (assuming they aren’t too new to allow a downgrade). Once downgraded you can then use the S1 app to set them up again.

You can’t simply download the S1 app and get it to work.  You must downgrade the firmware on the Sonos devices first.  See this link: https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/downgrade-a-sonos-product-to-s1

Thank you for the feedback. I will attempt to resolve the downgrade. I wish it wasn’t necessary but Sonos Two does not integrate well with speakers and TVs if you have Sonos boxes that are 8 years old, like mine.

Not all Sonos devices (the newer ones) have the capability to run S1. S1 doesn’t contain the definitions necessary for those devices. See this FAQ
