The sleep timer in the Sonos app only provides fixed time choices, yet, I almost always want longer than 2 hours and would prefer an ability to choose how long I want the timer to run. Thanks for considering.

Hey @jmaragos, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I can fully understand your request and also sometimes wish to have more flexible options for a sleep timer to kick in.

Thanks for raising this, I have added your idea to my report that gets seen by the relevant department.

Keep the ideas coming!

Thanks, Gabriel! I do have another suggestion that would increase customer usage or reliance on your mobile app, thereby leading to multiple purchases of your hardware / services and a deeper consumer relationship that is more sticky.

Currently, I have multiple streaming services linked to your app from which I can play content. However, there is a requirement for a Sonos hardware system to be on my network before I can access those services to then play content. However, you could strategically position the app as an ‘integrator’ of content regardless of a consumer’s location or hardware choices. As an example, I find myself traveling often for work, and would rather go to the Sonos app to play music to other devices such as through my phone, my rental car, or via a 3rd party speaker like the TV in my hotel room. Instead, I have to go to Spotify, Tidal, Amazon Music, SoundCloud; Tune In, or iHeart Radio separately. Your app could act as a universal hub thereby increasing usage and consumer reliance on your brand.

My last recommendation would be to remove the limit on the number of Sonos ‘favorites’ I can choose. As mentioned, with multiple content providers, I quickly hit the Sonos limit and instead am forced to go to the 3rd party apps and favorite them there instead. I believe reducing reliance as much as possible on these 3rd party content provider apps during the customer experience will only increase your brand position in the market.

Thanks for considering.

John

Great suggestions, John!

I see where you are coming from. I need to point out though that the Sonos app only works as a remote control. The services are linked to your account that lives on the speaker hardware (where also a certain amount of memory is reserved for things like favourites) that uses your network connection to call the tracks from the individual services.

To be honest, I was hoping, that with the Ace, what you describe, would be a reality already.

Therefor I’m more than happy to pass these requests on as well.

Thank you for that!
