I use Sonos Desktop Controller on Windows, with my large Music Library on the PC. If I turn off the Windows Defender Firewall for the Public Network, it works fine. If I turn on the Firewall for Public Network the app does not find the Music Library. The Firewall settings for allowing apps to communicate through the Windows Defender Firewall for Sonos Desktop Controller is to allow on Private and Public networks. Changing my local network to Private or Public does not seem to change anything. So all is fine if the Windows Defender Firewall is Off for Public Networks. This is not good. I seek advice on how I can make this work safely.

Your PC needs to be on a Private network for anything to communicate with Sonos. Same goes for a file share on a PC that the speakers need to access.
After marking your network as Private, uninstall the PC app and reinstall it, it will set the Windows firewall as required. None of your Sonos configuration will be effected by the removal of the app.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
