No, not yet unfortunately. It is much asked for but as yet only silence.
Ah, right. I see the manual I linked to does not mention the queue……
Hi @RavingDave
Thank you - I've marked this thread as a feature request and it will be seen by the relevant teams for consideration. Keep the ideas coming!
Please note that you can add tracks from the Browse or Search results of any music service (or Music Library) - there’s no need to add each file to the queue before adding it to a playlist.
I hope this helps.
Thanks for marking this as a ‘feature request’. However, I see this more as a request to re-instate a basic function which always existing in the pre May 2024 Appupdate, and indeed still exists in the Windows PC App (not to mention 3rd party Apps).
I understand your point of how I can add tracks from the Browse or Search results to a playlist. However, that is not the use case in question. I am not necessarily planning to create a playlist. My use case is adding many tracks to the queue, playing through them, re-ordering them, deciding which ones I want to keep, and then finally when I am happy with it I want to simply save the queue. Surely in the grand scheme of things not rocket science!
I have a similar gripe about not being able to revert to playing a loaded queue after playing a radio station (in my case after a radio alarm has played). I’m told this is ‘expected behaviour’ for the new App. But again the option to go back and play the loaded queue was always possible in the old App, and also is still available in the Windows App. It would be great if this could also be re-instated.
That's how the vast majority of my Sonos playlists were created - saving the queue to listen to again.
By adding it as a Feature Request does this really mean it's not already planned and on the Trello board - if that's still a thing?
Ah, right. I see the manual I linked to does not mention the queue……
It may do, can't tell as it's in Dutch. Or double Dutch to me…
The forum Sonos Staff have limited access to the developers, adding something as a feature request is all they can do in most cases.
Same for finding out the current status of stuff, if they aren't told something via their usual communication paths they have limited ability to find out.
Yes, I fully understand that. However, this was always a core functionality of the system. If this was something that had never been mentioned before I'd completely get it but it's not and has been mentioned many, many times. I'd have expected more along the lines of ‘It's planned but no ETA yet.’ to be honest..
Adding as a feature request is as though it's something new and not heard of being (re)requested before as opposed to more of a ‘Me too’ or +1 to help increase an issue's relevance/priority.
You would think that if a song can be added to a Sonos Playlist, and a Playlist of songs from a music service can be added to a Sonos Playlist, that the current queue of songs should be quite straightforward to add to a Sonos Playlist. I can understand that if the songs have been added to the queue from multiple sources that it would add a level of complication but surely surmountable.
What you describe as ‘surely surmountable’ (a queue of songs from multiple sources) was standard functionality. In fact, is it still standard functionality from the Desktop controller?
