Latest app update struggles hard to stay connected to Apple Music. It frequently skips songs and notes it could not connect to WiFi. Not experiencing WiFi issues with any other devices on my network. Attempted to submit diagnostics to Sonos in the app 3 times and all failed.
Interesting, I’m not experiencing this issue, despite updating. Is it possible there is a local network/wifi issue that are affecting the Sonos devices ability to talk to each other, which might be why your other devices are still working?
I’d be tempted to try three things. First, a simple network refresh, by unplugging all Sonos devices from power, then rebooting the router. Wait a couple of minutes after plugging back in the router before plugging in the Sonos devices. This will force reloads of the OS on both the router and the Sonos, as well as give the Sonos devices new IP addresses.
Second, I’d be tempted to read the wifi interference FAQ, and apply any solutions there that may apply to the network.
Finally, if neither of those work in your situation, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. But don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, they get sensitive about GDPR.
There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.
When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

I have written the following & reported to Sonos.. The second point about the App sound like what you are experiencing.
If they try to tell you that its just you-perhaps the Customer Service team have not yet been informed to this “updates” problems.

I allowed the update: my findings are:
From the Sonos App:
Performance degradation due to periodically loss of or turns off a speaker(s).
Some instances of turning on the app- the App says there is no system, requiring turning off & on the app a few times. (have also reset)
Minor app issue:
App graphic no longer updates with the music. Again- turn off the app & return, & the graphic may update to current music- approx 80%. If not, a second refresh usually updates the image.
Airplay - works like it had before the update.
over all, this is pretty much a standard poor release for Sonos. I’m grateful I can still AirPlay.
Over all:
I am not sure that I will allow future updates. I fear loss of non app function.
