i have downstairs rooms running on S2.  5 bedrooms all have Play 5s running on S1 system. It used to work ok. But when I open the S1 app all it does is find the S2 system and tell me to switch to the S2 app. It happens on all my devices.

I used to have many more Sonos devices, including in other properties. I’ve sold them all since the Sonos S2 introduction fiasco.

That’s certainly odd. I’d think of this was the issue on everyone’s system, there would be many more threads, my understanding is this kind of setup isn’t unusual.

I think I’d try unplugging all S2 devices, then boot up the S1 controller on all your devices to see if it then recognizes them. If it does, I’d think you should be able to plug back in the S2 devices, and run the two systems as normal.

Conversely, you might want to call Sonos Support directly to discuss it.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
