My TV has an IR (Toshiba) but I use my remote from Bell Fibe, I’ve tried to sync both, they control the volume when I look at the Sonos app buy also trun the volume on my tv speakers. Help, maybe my TV is not compatiable? It’s not a smart TV.

Which soundbar are you using? How is it connected to the TV?

There is usually a TV option (somewhere) to disable its speakers. I recommend that you configure the Bell remote to control an imaginary A/V receiver, then train the soundbar to use these Volume commands and ignore the TV remote unless you need it to switch power for the TV.

I think my problem is not being able to shut off my tv speakers. Toshiba 55G31OU, 2011 model.

If you use my scheme, you can mute or simply reduce the TV Volume to zero. A potential complication with this scheme is that the TV might display a Mute or zero Volume warning.

Maybe page 18 will help.
