The new app is taking shape nicely and I'd say its now functionally almost matching the old app (and of course it looks better and is 'modern'). But there are still some little gripes that I'd like to feedback to Sonos:

1) When entering the queue it takes you back to the top instead of where the current song is being played. Gets very tedious when you have a long list. Would love to see an Apple Music style queue where tracks already played are hidden but you can always scroll back if you want to replay that song thats stuck in your head again....and again.... and again…

2) When I want to play 'My station' from apple music on the home screen it always fails (error). I have to go to services > apple music and play it from there every time. Could be widespread to all stations but I haven't tried. Another little annoyance.

3) Album art seems to drop in and out of existence.

4) Search. When searching it would be great to set a service as default so it gives me the full search of that service, instead of having to click "view more" each time.

5) Playlists. Updates rolling out now so I will reserve judgement until later in the year.

I'm sure there's more but thats enough typing after a work day.

As I said, I feel like the app is finally in a good place, I just hope the experience is the same for everyone else. 🙏

Hi @craigus111,

Thank you for the feedback, I’d be happy to pass this along to the relevant teams for their consideration. Regarding each of your points, here’s some more detail on each:

  1. This is expected behaviour in the new app, but I’ll forward this as a feature request to the team.
  2. Does ‘My Station’ on Apple Music have uploaded tracks? If so, we’re aware of an issue where an error is given when trying to play uploaded tracks from Apple Music. The workaround is to play from the catalog (not browsing on the main screen), or to use AirPlay, Bluetooth, or Line-In if possible.
  3. I can find documenation for missing album art but nothing specifically for album art that comes and goes. I would recommend contacting support if this keeps happening to troubleshoot with them or at least log a case regarding this issue.
  4. I can see why it doesn’t do this, but I don’t see why we couldn’t let users select a default service like you’re suggesting. I’ll forward this as a feature request also.

I’m glad to hear that you’re happy with the place the Sonos app is in. If you have any feedback regarding playlists or anything else to do with the Sonos app then be sure to share them here or on another thread on the community.

It’s been good to see updates.  I’d like to see the alphabetized search back.

Also keen to see what new changes are coming. One of the main reasons given for the new app was to make it easier to add new functionality.

Coming soon… 🙂
